Heavenese is a Japanese gospel band. When I hear their music, I hear a new sound for Gospel Music. I have never heard anyone like them in America. Heavenese is a very different and unique group. They are on Sheila E.'s record label. She's a member of the Prince family with the hit "Glamorous Life" from 1985. The great gospel singer Andrae Crouch was also a participating artist with the group. Heavenese made their first single in 2010. Their beginning activity was formed in 1995 for the advanced gospel event "Gospel Fest" that started as a charity of the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake. It became "Heavenly Citizen" name from 2001. Announcer: Candi Staton started performing in the 1950's. She is a soul and gospel singer with hit songs like, "Young Hearts Run Free", which reached #1 on the U.S. R&B charts. It was a disco song released in 1976. There was a good message in that song. It helped me to think twice when I was just a teenage girl.

Candi made a lot of great R&B songs, but most of all, she also made great gospel songs. Gospel songs like "God Can Make Something Out of Nothing". The title of that song speaks loud for itself. A very true song. It was a song that helped me to think better about myself in God. I remember Candi singing that song in the 80's.

The Mighty Clouds of Joy is a traditional gospel group that has been singing for a very long time. They are also recognized as being early pioneers of today's Comtemporary Gospel sound. You may have heard R&B and Disco in their sound. The Mighty Clouds of Joy is the first gospel group known to be on Soul Train.

One of my favorite songs from the Mighty Clouds of Joy is called "Mighty High". It is a 1975 Disco/R&B single. The single proved to be very popular with disco fans. It stayed at number one on the disco/dance chart for five weeks. The Mighty Clouds of Joy is an amazing Gospel group to be loved in both Gospel and Disco. I'm Gail Nobles and today's topic is.....
