This week we'll be studying Luke 7:36-50 as we worship under the theme "Jesus Anointed by A Sinful Woman." This account teaches such an important point - i.e. from God's perspective, the amount or nature of our sins is not nearly as spiritually important as an awareness of our sinfulness and dependence on Jesus alone for salvation. The Pharisee has committed far fewer sins, but this has actually blinded him to his need for a Savior. On the other hand, the woman who has sinned greatly is grateful. This text offers tremendous insights on the definition of sin and the attitude of a regenerate Christian vs. a simply religious person.
