With Palm Sunday, Ps Sue Irwin continues through the Book of Luke with the miracle of healing of the daughter of a synagogue leader and the healing of a woman who was bleeding for 12 years.

As we get closer to Easter, we remember how Jesus came to save us which is why he came on a donkey which means "arrival in peace" and not on a horse like a war-waging king

In this weeks Sunday message, Kay Hodge who has worked as a missionary with her husband in Nigeria shares God’s call into mission work and the difficulties that Nigeria has faced with the violent, fundamentalist, Muslim terrorist group Boko Haram active in committing shocking atrocities- especially against Christians.

In this setting the Hodge family have brought the gospel message- sharing thelove of God and the forgiveness found in Jesus, which can set even the hardest and most burdened of hearts free.

She tells stories of first hand experiences of violence and vitriolic behaviour into which God intervened and brought a peace which shows he is the King of Creation and the Lord of Liberty.

On this weeks Grainery Sunday podcast, we have guest speaker Tim Hanna from Brisbane who used be CEO of Compassion until early 2020 who comes and continues going through the Book of Luke with Chapter 8: 22-25 where he talks about having faith in God and uses people from the Book of Luke who stepped out in faith to be close to Jesus when he was preaching.

But here is the hope of the Christian - freedom from sinful and self righteous thoughts, from a paralysing hopelessness, forgiveness of sin, healing for our bodies.

Sue asks us who we identify with in this story and encourages us to analyse the thoughts of our own hearts, keeping our eyes focused on Jesus and on bringing ourselves and others to Jesus in faith, hope and boldness based on God’s mercy.

In our evening Sunday Podcast, Bev Murrill looks at Luke Ch 5 and goes into detail on how the life of someone living during the time of Jesus can change dramatically if they are classified as a leper. And that when Jesus came, he came to be with those who were marginalized and wanted to be saved .

On this week's Grainery Church AM podcast, Theo Rule continues going through the Book of Luke with the story of Jesus healing the man with leprosy and describes how the man with leprosy represents how broken humanity is and that because of Jesus dying on the cross, we are fixed.
