In this episode of The Green Line, host Art Del Cueto shared updates on border security, recent news events, and his personal experiences advocating for agents and communities impacted by border issues.
Art opened the show by recounting his participation in a Tucson roundtable discussion with Congressman Juan Ciscomani and local business leaders. The focus was on clarifying details of what supporters call the “Big Beautiful Bill,” emphasizing its importance for both border security and economic support. Art highlighted the positive impact the bill could have on agents in the field, particularly in providing much-needed vehicles, equipment, and resources.
He then addressed a recent tragic incident near a Home Depot, where a man lost his life after running into freeway traffic. While initial media reports suggested Border Patrol had been pursuing him, Art clarified through his sources that the individual was not being chased by agents. He criticized what he described as misleading coverage, arguing that such reporting unfairly paints Border Patrol as villains.
Art also commented on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s remarks attacking immigration enforcement, including sarcastic comments directed at former ICE Director Tom Homan. Art responded bluntly, saying Newsom “couldn’t lace Tom Homan’s shoes,” and discussed his appearance on Newsmax where he defended agents against political attacks.
Another major topic was the ongoing case of Agent David Maland, who was killed during a traffic stop in Vermont earlier this year. Art shared his strong view that the suspect should face the maximum penalty, noting that federal prosecutors are pursuing capital punishment. He underscored the seriousness of the crime and expressed unwavering support for fellow agents.
Closing the show, Art acknowledged the challenges agents face across the country, especially in California, while reminding them of the widespread support they continue to receive. He expressed his gratitude for their dedication, reaffirmed his stance on holding criminals accountable
