Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have been known for their significant contribution to the country's economy. Many Filipinos choose to work abroad to provide a better life for their families back home, and among the various professions, nurses are one of the most in-demand OFWs in different parts of the world. Even though working abroad is an excellent opportunity for Filipino nurses as it allows them to explore new cultures, gain new experiences, and hone their skills in healthcare, it is still not an easy journey. One challenge they encounter is being away from their loved ones. Despite these challenges, many nurses push through because they know that their hard work and sacrifices will yield fruit, not only for themselves but for their loved ones back home. And this dedication to their work has earned them the recognition and respect of their colleagues and patients.

HIV is a virus that the majority of us have heard of, yet many people are still uninformed about the disease and its consequences. Due to this, it is crucial to share our little knowledge about HIV however we also want to stop the stigma or misconceptions about it and to increase awareness and help prevent the spread of this virus. 

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system, leading to weakness and rendering the body susceptible to infections. HIV is primarily transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse, the sharing of needles, and from mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding.

Misconceptions can be dangerous as they can lead to complacency or fear. For instance, a common misconception is that HIV is only contracted through sexual intercourse. However, every time we share a needle or engage in unprotected sex, we put ourselves at risk of contracting the virus.
