Guy Relford returns to the 93.1 WIBC studios for another edition of The Gun Guy Show. Guy begins the show talking about the so-called "Assault Weapon" ban in Illinois. Assault Weapon is a made-up political term that is non-sensical. Gun control advocates have been ecstatic that the Supreme Court has failed to grant an injunction on the law while it's being litigated. Should the gun controllers be celebrating? Guy is certain that the new Illinois law will be ultimately overturned on the merits. As usual, Guy takes calls from the listeners. Topics include moving legally owned arms across not so friendly state lines, credit card companies trying to code purchases at gun retailers, can green card-carrying non-citizens purchase guns, and what does it take to become a firearms instructor?

What would the Founding Fathers think about today's surge in illegal immigration at the Southern Border when it comes to the Second Amendment. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Guy has repeatedly stated that a "well regulated militia" does not mean a militia regulated by the government. A well regulated militia is one that is disciplined and efficient. Guy argues that the Founding Fathers have put to paper what we as a people should do to defend our free state and our security. That the well regulated militia is to defend our free state, and our safety.

2nd Amendment Rights defender Guy Relford is one of the few coming in support of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals U.S. v. Rahimi, a post-Bruen Second Amendment ruling. To the layman, it appears that the court is okay with dangerous domestic abusers having the right keep their weapons that they will ultimately use against their victims. But the ruling is far more nuanced than that. The ruling maintains that one's Second Amendment right cannot be infringed if they have not been convicted of a crime. Domestic orders of protection aren't necessarily a result of a crime that has been committed. The 5th Circuit has ruled that the order of restraint alone cannot erase one's 2nd Amendment rights.

Guy Relford returns to the 93.1 WIBC studios for another edition of "The Gun Guy". On today's show, Guy comments about a controversial decision made by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, in the case of U.S. v. Rahimi. The court ruled that one's 2nd Amendment rights cannot be infringed if one has not been convicted of a crime. Most of the mainstream press has come out against the ruling, along with the many gun control groups. Guy comes out in support of the decision and tells the audience why. Lots of phone calls today. Topics ranged from Chinese throwing stars to the legality of wearing body armor.

Guy begins the show talking about the IMPD’s long standing policy of sending every firearm confiscated for whatever reason or circumstance to the crime lab. IMPD policy was to collect data from all firearms and send that data to ATF as part of a federal database called the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network. Only data from firearms suspected of being involved in a crime was supposed to be sent to the ATF, and IMPD was sending data from every firearm, a possible violation of ATF policy. Only after WISH-TV's Richard Essex report in February exposing this possibly unconstitutional data collection from lawful gun owners did IMPD reverse its policy. Reporter Richard Essex calls in to talk about the report and how it forced IMPD to change its policy.

Fresh off of attending the annual NRA meeting in Downtown Indianapolis last week, Guy Relford talked about the speakers he saw there. Former President Trump was the most prominent of the speakers. While the show was winding down, Guy talked about a message he received on Twitter stating, "I'm surprised President Trump got an enthusiastic response from the NRA members since he's an enemy of the 2nd Amendment."
Guy responds that he understands where this individual is coming from. First off, President Trump after the Las Vegas mass shooting directed the ATF to find a way to ban Bump Stocks. President Trump set a precedent we don't like. After the Parkland mass shooting, President Trump was talking about a national red flag law. One of his cabinet members, or a member of congress responded, "what about due process". President Trump said, "Take the guns first, due process comes later.", and a whole bunch of us said "Whoa, hold on.. I have a problem with that."
Guy ends the discussion with the argument that there may be other candidates in 2024 that a have a stronger record on the 2nd Amendment than the former President. Guy can see that.
Doesn't mean that I didn't enthusiastically vote for President Trump twice, because I sure as hell preferred him to Hillary Clinton, or to Joe Biden, no question about that!

Guy Relford returns to the 93.1 WIBC Studios for another edition of the Gun Guy Show. Talks about last week’s special show at Premier Arms in Brownsburg, and appearance by Greenwood shooting hero Eli Dicken. Guy talks about the NRA annual meeting held in Downtown Indianapolis last weekend. Guy talks about impressive South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. Noem signed an executive order Friday that blocks state agencies from signing contracts with financial institutions that she says have discriminated against the firearms industry. Our own Indiana Republicans have not been successful getting similar legislation passed. Guy was also impressed with 2024 Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy whose speech at the NRA was "Lights Out". Guy begins the second hour talking about a Daily Mail article showing kids with guns at the NRA annual meeting. While Guy endorses parents teaching their kids about guns and how to use them safely, he also pleads with the audience to not "give the media 'ammunition'" to make 2A advocates look like "nuts". Guy responds to person who tweeted the Donald Trump is an enemy of the 2nd Amendment. Is that true?
