I discuss how culture-centered eating and wellness is not only more sustainable, but it is also inclusive, creates community, and allows you to experience more personal growth in other areas. Through my own journey of going vegan and eating more cultural foods, I have found so much more fulfillment in my journey and in this episode, I share how you can use these same practices in your own wellness.

In this week's episode, I sat down with Yami and Tina Correa, Co-Founders of the Sister Yard, who have always been passionate about creating community through food. Starting with their childhood in Venezuela, the sisters have memories of sharing meals, stories, and laughs in the kitchen with their extended family every Sunday. After moving to the United States and starting their higher education, they inevitably found themselves working in an industry they were always passionate about: food. From nutrition consultations to outdoor cooking classes to coconut cold brew, you will hear the story of how these two young entrepreneurs are bringing love, community, joy, and sustainability into everything they do.

Today’s episode is a topic I’ve been really excited to start talking about on this podcast because this is really the secret behind my entire cooking journey and what inspires me to keep creating. We’re talking about the most important tool to anyone’s kitchen: your intuition.
You see intuitive cooking is just as important as intuitive eating. Cooking in a way that is most fulfilling to you will never come from a celebrity chef, cooking show, cookbook author or online recipe developer. All of these people and resources are incredible valuable, but they can’t substitute this very important work of developing your intuition in the kitchen. Tune in to learn more about how to tap in to your cooking intuition and start to create delicious, customized meals at home.

Even before I went vegan, I've always loved natural, vegan skin care products from around the world--especially Korea--and could not wait to bring on Beauty + Skincare Social Media Queen, Skincare Influencer, and one of my dear friends, Crystall Cho to enlighten us on how to create a custom skin care routine. Veganism isn't just about eating a plantbased diet, it's an ethical and moral commitment to live a life that reduces animal exploitation as much as possible. But even if you aren't completely vegan, swapping out your products for cruelty free versions is an easy way of making an impact with your daily skin care routine. Tune in to hear my conversation with Crystall about the connection between what we eat and our skin, the importance of double cleansing, and why skin care routines are a form of self-care.

In this episode, I talk about one of my favorite topics: community building through food. Many people think they need be involved in official organizations or institutions to find community, but in fact, we have this really natural way of building networks to support us in time of joy and in times of change. As our world continues to change, I talk about how I've seen the power of building intentional community around food and how you can identify your role in your community. Food is such a superpower in building community and creating a collective wellness. Listen in to understand your role in your community, how to unify your community with food, and why this is especially important in a time of change.
