The Halas Huddle: A Chicago Bears show

The Chicago Bears decided to throw major money at Ben Johnson to sway him to come to Chicago.

It was down to the Raiders, Jaguars and Chicago.

No one could be 100% confident in Johnson joining the Bears because this organization finds ways to screw up so many things. However, signs now point to major changes within the Bears front office.

The guys at Halas Huddle go through Ben Johnson's pros and cons.

What could lead to Johnson's failure?

What sets him up for success?

What does this mean for Caleb Williams?

Who is coming in as Ben Johnson's coordinators?

How does this signing impact Ryan Poles and his contract?

The Chicago Bears need to make a big decision.

Tomorrow is Black Monday in the NFL and the Bears need to either fire or decide to keep Ryan Poles as the general manager in 2025.

Rob, Bob and Justin broke down every move by Ryan Poles over the last three years. They came up with a grading scale to help decide if Poles should be fired or kept.

How did each person at the Halas Huddle score the decisions of the Bears' general manager?

How did Poles handle coaching as a whole - including Matt Eberflus and Shane Waldron.

How did Poles handle pro personnel decisions including free agency and trades?

How did Poles handle the draft over the last 3 years?

How has Poles handled team building?

Will Kevin Warren and George McCaskey make the right decision?

Will it impact their decision regarding hiring the next head coach?

The Chicago Bears were supposed to come out with a different sense of urgency.

Matt Eberflus is laughing as he watched this team fall apart even more against one of the best-coached teams in the NFL - the 49ers.

The 49ers were always going to be a tough team to beat, but when they were playing with most of their team banged up or out, the Chicago Bears had a glimmer of hope. That wasn't what happened on the field though.

The Chicago Bears came out flat once again and Justin and Bob go through what went wrong. Is Thomas Brown not the answer as head coach?

Is it time for Ryan Poles to also be let go?

Does this team need a complete rebuild again?

It is tiresome being a Chicago Bears fan.

It's the same ol' story over and over and over again.

The Chicago Bears have made some big mistakes over the years. Will their recent incompetence cost them in their upcoming search for a new head coach?

Can Thomas Brown build upon his recent success as the Chicago Bears' new offensive coordinator? Being an interim head coach is not easy. If Brown proves not to be the best suitor for the job, will Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren find a coach who will improve Caleb Williams' development and finally start winning?

Matt Eberflus is gone, and Thomas Brown is in, but who will be the next head coach for the Chicago Bears?

Justin and Bob talk about some news or noise topics, while also taking a look at the upcoming opponent - the San Francisco 49ers.

Matt Eberflus is fired and the Chicago Bears are moving on with Thomas Brown as their interim head coach. However, even the firing of Eberflus was not done correctly. This organization proves once again that they are subpar in so many ways.

Matt Eberflus broke the final straw with a botched timeout situation, but let's not forget the blocked field goal vs. Green Bay or the Hail Mary against Washington.

Eberflus deserved to be fired and it's about time the Chicago Bears make history!

George McCaskey needs to directly apologize to Chicago Bears fans for causing this problem and Ryan Poles needs to own up to the issues as well.

Kevin Warren cannot stay silent any longer either. Bears fans deserve better!

Caleb Williams at least looks legit and we will see who the next coaching candidates will be after the season ends.

Thomas Brown has a chance to show something, but hot names like Ben Johnson and Mike Vrabel come to mind.

Liam Coen or even Todd Monken might be another possibility.

DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and other seem to have had enough.

This organization needs to do something to prove to Bears fans that they are moving forward correctly.

Like clockwork, the Chicago Bears fall to the Green Bay Packers again. The Bears are supposed to change things but cannot beat their biggest rival.

I guess it is a step in the right direction that the Bears at least covered the spread.
That also hasn't happened in 10 years.

Caleb Williams played well and the defense played just well enough.
It came down to another fourth-quarter drive to put the Bears in position to win.
This time, instead of a Hail Mary, the Chicago Bears made poor decisions and allowed a blocked field goal to seal their fate.

Thomas Brown called a much better game than we have seen from Shane Waldron. Rob and Justin talk about why Matt Eberflus has to be fired and the Chicago Bears, especially Ryan Poles (assuming he also isn't fired), need to get the next coaching hire correct.

The Chicago Bears cannot get out of their own way.

The organization never learns and follows the same, backward way of doing things.

We are seeing a lame-duck coach who is not aligned with the quarterback and is likely on his way out.

The team should have made a change today, but instead, nothing new happened despite losing 19-3 to the worst team in football -- the Patriots.

Maybe the Chicago Bears are the worst team.

Is Caleb Williams broken?

Has this regime ruined another quarterback?

We have already seen this story shake out with Justin Fields; it does not look any better now.

Will the Bears move on from offensive coordinator Shane Waldron?

Who is the best option to take over playcalling?

Rob and Justin discuss this and more!

Is Matt Eberflus truly on the hot seat?

Was Eberflus retained for 2024 because the Chicago Bears gave him a five-year contract and the McCaskey's didn't want to eat that much money?

Is Caleb Williams proving he isn't generations?

The Chicago Bears are in a must-win situation vs the Patriots in Week 10.

The injury bug has hit the Chicago Bears hard, but do they still have more talent than the Patriots?

We just watched another poor performance by the Chicago Bears. Matt Eberflus does not look like a coach who has his team prepared for game day and that is a problem.

This team looks like a joke out there!

Injuries are a concern, but the offensive line cannot block.

Caleb Willams's accuracy is too inconsistent right now.

The defense gave up, and Ryan Poles has failed in two big ways.

FREE CHICAGO BEARS JERSEY!!!!!

Is the defense really this bad that it cannot play better without Montez Sweat, Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker?

Rome Odunze came to play, but the offense just looks off. Is that Shane Waldron or Matt Eberflus?

The Chicago Bears cannot keep playing this way or the team will be lucky to flirt with a .500 record by the end of the 2024 season.

Have to think Caleb's dad is feeling sick as the Commanders won another game this week.
