The Halas Huddle: A Chicago Bears show

The Chicago Bears are now 0-2 on the season and headed to Kansas City to face the reigning Super Bowl champions. We can expect a 0-3 start to the season for the Bears and Justin Fields.

After two games, the Chicago Bears have looked bad all around minus a few players here and there. Justin Fields looks pedestrian and does not seem like he took that next step. He looks broken and has only won 5 games in his career. Who is to blame though?

Did the Chicago Bears ruin Justin Fields or has Fields just not done enough to improve? He seems broken, but can he be fixed? Is it the offensive scheme? Can he fit in a different system with a different team? Should the Chicago Bears consider drafting Caleb Williams if they finish with the first-overall pick in 2024? So many questions and not enough concrete answers.

In Episode 57 of The Halas Huddle, Justin Onayemi and Bob Weiss breakdown a disappointing performance by the Chicago Bears, and discuss what this game means for Justin Fields and his future as a franchise quarterback. #chicagobears #greenbaypackers #justinfields #jordanlove #week1

Justin Fields will have an opportunity to restart the rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.

Recent history has not been friendly to the Chicago Bears as the Packers have dominated the matchup. However, Aaron Rodgers is now gone and Jordan Love is the new face in Green Bay.

The Chicago Bears should win this game and take an early lead in the division.

Justin and Rob discuss the key matchups on both offense and defense. They also outline how the Chicago Bears will win or what could cause them to lose.

The Chicago Bears are preparing for Week 3 of the preseason vs the Bills.

Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus have made some key moves this offseason. Now, it is time for the Bears to make a change at the quarterback position. P.J. Walker must be moved behind Tyson Bagent — making Bagent QB2.

Terrell Lewis and Trevis Gipson need to be moved up too. Neither belong where they are and Lewis deserves to be third in line behind Yannick Ngakoue and DeMarcus Walker.

Other names that need to be moved around on the depth chart include Daurice Fountain, Doug Kramer, Roschon Johnson and more.

Make sure to follow and never miss a new episode!

Note: We did not harm Teven Jenkins, but it appears talking about off-field injuries was not a good idea as Jenkins is now likely out for 4-6 weeks!

The Chicago Bears beat the Tennessee Titans 23-17 on Saturday. Justin Fields found DJ Moore early for a 62-yard touchdown. He also hit Khalil Herbert for a screen pass that went 56 yards.

The starting offense had two drives that led to 14 points. You can't ask for anything better than that.

Ryan Poles should be happy with the production from most of his rookies too. The day wasn't perfect, but overall, more rookies showed their worth than not.

Darnell Wright impressed me and Tyrique Stevenson looks like he could become a playmaker.

How did Gervon Dexter, Zacch Pickens, Roschon Johnson, Tyler Scott and other rookies perform though?

We look ahead to the Chicago Bears vs Colts game too. This will be another important week and hopefully, the team doesn't sustain any major injuries.

The Halas Huddle welcomes two new members to the crew as Jim McFan and Mitch Brodinsky present Da Bearody Report. Justin Fields to throw for 15,000 yards and 233 touchdowns.

There has been plenty to discuss about the Chicago Bears this offseason and Ryan Poles deserves a large amount of credit.

Rob and Justin go through what has been trending out of Chicago Bears camp and decide if these training camp stories are actually news or just a bunch of noise.

The Chicago Bears signed Yannick Ngakoue to a one-year deal, but what does that mean?

Which players will be directly affected by the new free agent?

How will the Bears' defense change?

Does Yannick Ngakoue speed up the Bears' playoff timeline?

Did Ryan Poles truly become King Poles?

What about the rest of the defensive depth chart?

Has Poles improved the roster on this side of the football or do the Chicago Bears still lack enough talent to compete in 2023?

Rob and Justin break down the defensive side of the ball by going through each position and ranking them on a scale of 1-10.

How would you grade each positional group of the Chicago Bears?

Ryan Poles has been working tirelessly to improve the Chicago Bears roster this offseason. At times, it's about making small improvements that are built for the future rather than quick fixes to patch up the present. This seems to be what Poles is doing in only his second year as the Bears general manager.

Justin and Rob dive into each offensive position group and compare each group to the 2022 roster. They give each position a ranking of 1 through 10. Just how much has the Chicago Bears offense improved compared to last season? Has Ryan Poles done enough this offseason or were you expecting more? The offense seems to have had a decent overhaul in certain areas, but is it enough?

Justin and Rob also discuss the current market for running backs in the NFL. Are running backs making too little for the amount of work they put in on the field? Should they stop complaining as they make hundreds of thousands of dollars each year compared to the everyday common person?

We find a way to make things better for running backs going forward. The NFL should really install our ideas into action.

The Chicago Bears are a young football team going through what many would call a rebuild. Ryan Poles is entering year two of this rebuild with Justin Fields also entering his second year in Luke Getsy's offense.

The team finished with the worst record in football in 2022 but was hardly the worst team in the league. How will the new additions help the Bears improve and which players have the most to prove during the 2023 NFL season?

Rob and Justin discuss their top five while naming a couple of honorable mentions as well. Who do you believe should make this list?

We plan to announce our next giveaway during episode 50!!!
