This week we examined Colossians 1:1-14. The Apostle Paul teaches that the faith and love the Colossians have is “because of the hope reserved for you in Heaven.” We all are in need of hope. What we place our hope in affects how we live and relate to others. From this text we will see the fruit of hope and the root of hope.

He prayed for His people to be equipped in the Word, protected from spiritual adversity, and united love to share the gospel to the world.

Peter Gatata takes us through John 15:1-8. Here we will learn that as followers of Jesus we are called to abide in Him as the true vine which provides nourishment in our lives and produces Christ-like character that glorifies God and proves we are becoming the disciples of Jesus. We become more like Jesus as we abide in Him.

The church today needs to reframe the modern, muddied understanding of Evangelism to root us in the proper biblical context found in Matthew’s “Great Commission”. Doing so has the power to free us from cultural baggage and boldly fulfill what Christ has called us to in “mak[ing] disciples of all nations”.

As we explore God’s words to Joshua at the beginning of the Promised Land conquest, we hear God’s instruction for finding strength and courage as we tackle the tasks that God has for us. He provides us strength and courage through His Promise, Presence, and Word, and in stepping out to follow His Charge.

When Money takes the place of God it leads to seeking a life of ease, greed, and anxiety. When we trust in God and his provision, it leads to peace, hope, and sacrificial giving. This is the difference Jesus makes in our financial lives.

Join us this week as we examine 2 Timothy 2:20-26. In this passage, Paul is describing the differences between honorable and dishonorable vessels. He explains that God’s people are called to serve Him (God) as special instruments of purpose, nobility, and grace and describes what that should look like when dealing with opposing people and viewpoints.

Join us this week as we examine Luke 8:26-35. In this passage, Jesus will confront and rescue a man who has been held captive by demonic forces. The confrontation reveals that this man has been controlled by a master that forced him into isolation and pain. We will see Jesus as the true Master exercise his authority over darkness and bring peace to a weary soul.

Join us this Sunday as we sing, worship and study Luke 8:22-25. During our study we will see how Jesus demonstrates His lordship over all things and is worthy to be trusted and

obeyed. Yet, when crisis arise, faith can waiver from unpredictable outcomes. Together, let us see how Jesus loves and shepherds His Disciples.

In Luke chapter 8, Jesus exposed four descriptions of the heart and explained how the gospel takes root in noble hearts. As we finish chapter 8, we will explore what it means to have a noble heart rooted in the gospel. Jesus is teaching that hearts rooted in the Word reveal their faith to others, listen to the Word, and practice their faith with others.
