Wright says we should expect a benevolent God to create the world slowly over time. In the same way Jesus says the kingdom of God grows slowly like seeds cast into the field. For him to speak and direct creation in six literal days would make him despotic like an ancient asian monarch who commands his palace to be built. All of his servants scurry around in fear to accomplish his mandates.

If you are wondering how he makes this connection and then tries to defend it, join the party. Bizarre is an understatement. But Wright is a prominent Christian voice that many pastors and Christians heed. He seems to fit the profile of a “spiritual” serial killer.

To the question from last week. Why would someone ask this? Is there a connection between evolution and infant baptism?
