Today we want to talk about how believers ought to think about and what our attitude should be toward the modern state of Israel.
Is the modern state of Israel part of Bible prophecy?
Let’s review Ezekiel 22, it is very germane to the discussion of whether or not the modern state of Israel has any biblical significance. Ezekiel 22:17-22,
Then the word of the Lord came to me: 18 “Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are but the dross of silver. 19 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because you have all become dross, I will gather you into Jerusalem. 20 As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are gathered into a furnace to be melted with a fiery blast, so will I gather you in my anger and my wrath and put you inside the city and melt you. 21 I will gather you and I will blow on you with my fiery wrath, and you will be melted inside her. 22 As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted inside her, and you will know that I the Lord have poured out my wrath on you.’”
Interestingly, Ezekiel describes Israel as being regathered for a future time of judgment which leads to repentance, regeneration.
A few chapters later Ezekiel 36:24-26 uses New Covenant language and Israel being in their land is part of this.
Now add to this another specific text which is very important to any discussion of modern-day Israel and scripture, and that is Isaiah 11:11-12.
Why is this text so important? You see here there are two world-wide regatherings. Worldwide, because again you can’t limit this to coming back from Babylonian exile.
Our conclusion would be that the current state of Israel fulfills this first world-wide regathering in unbelief. And there will be a second, larger-scale, world wide regathering—that is a time where Jews living all over the world pour back into their land and then Romans 11 is fulfilled.
Why do many not seem to be aware of—the limit of two regatherings?
We see that Israel (the state as a whole) is in current unbelief.
How does Genesis 12 relates to this discussion? Should their unbelief change our attitude toward them?

should I—financially support a missionary through any other means then a local church?
