Our guest for this first episode is Barry Garibaldi, or also known as Cajun. Barry is one of our good friends that is a huge supporter in the hammocking community. He is a gear rep for 8 cottage vendors that I am sure you are very familiar with and may even have some of their gear. 

Barry makes it to about 32 hangs each year to show off some of the different gear from each of the vendors that he reps for, and helps people get set up with the gear that is right for them.

Our guest this week is an outdoor adventurer, environmental enthusiast, flower lover, thru-hiker, runner, gardener, and YouTuber based in Western North Carolina. On March 13th, She began her thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain, Georgia, and 166 days later summitted Mt Katahdin, Maine, and used her hammock for her journey. She has been hammock camping since she got her first hammock back in 2013 and took her updated setup on her AT thru-hike. her outdoor adventures are documented on channels under the guise Appalachian Adventurista.

Our guest this week is another YouTube sensation that has 14,000 subscribers and over 500 awesome videos uploaded that consist of everything from gear review videos to trip videos and how to videos. He has been making these great videos for everyone to watch since 2015.

His name is Mark Orton, or many of you may know him as Spiguyver, from the  Spiguyver Backpacking channel on YouTube.

The episode is a little different this week because Skunkape had a change in his work schedule which prevented him from being able to be here, but Pheonix took the reins and had a great one on one conversation with Mark.

They chat about a little bit of everything from how Mark got into the camping and hammocking world, his YouTube channel and videos, and also about a medical concern that Mark found out he had.

This weeks episode is a special milestone for The Hammock Hangers Podcast, as it is the 52nd, weekly episode. That is one whole year of all of you awesome people putting up with the sound of mine and Pheonix's voices. We both want to thank all of you for sticking with us each week and helping us grow.

Our guests this week are Heather Beck and Richard Nance, 2 of the board members of the Palmetto State Hangers group. This is the South Carolina hammock group that puts on Fall Sprawl, The Holiday Hang, Frozen Butt Hang, Spring Swing, and the Swamp Butt Hang each year. 

This week though we are going to introduce you to Richard Nance, which is the new President of the group, and we are also going to talk some about the 2023 Fall Sprawl hang coming up in October.

We hear about some of the classes and events that they will have goin on, along with hearing about some of the vendors that will be there set up for you talk to and buy gear from. 

We can't leave out talking about the raffle either, where you have a chance to win some really awesome gear from those vendors and others that have sent in gear donations. 

You will hear how all of the money that is raised from the raffle ticket sales don't go to the club, but goes to the state parks for a special event that they hold each year where they buy gear for families that have no idea what it's like being in the outdoors camping. So all of that money is going to a great cause.
