When Jesus saw the masses distressed and dispirited, he felt compassion for them. True followers of Jesus are also called to see people as he sees them. We are also called to feel compassion and mercy. Jesus then commanded that we pray for the Lord of the harvest to send workers in the harvest. We should desire to also be such workers. Believers ought not merely see and feel compassion, but also engage the lost as the hands and feet of the Savior.
