In this series we will look at what we can learn from particular characters in the bible. This week we are looking at Cain. We can learn from Cain about how we are to come to God in worship and sacrifice, how important it is to accept Gods convictions and how if we reject them, how the enemy is waiting to devour us.

In the final chapter of Nehemiah we see that after 10 years or so the people have slipped back into their old ways. Nehemiah arrives in Jerusalem, from returning to Babylon as promised in Chapter 1, and starts to bring reform back to the people. Many of the previous issues are at the forefront of this reform; Marriage, Giving and Sabbath rest.

This week we look at the people of Israel dedicating the walls. We explore the principles that took place; the heart of worship, purification of leaders, congregation and surroundings and giving onto the Lord.

Here we look at how the city of Jerusalem was populated after the building of the wall and spiritual reform. We see how the people's attitude reflected in their sacrifice.

This week look at the importance of renewing our covenant with God. We also look at the three promises the people of Israel made to God as part of the renewed commitment to God.

This week we explore the longest prayer in scripture. We look at what the remaining three principles for revival; Recognition of God's goodness, Recognition of our sinfulness & Renewing our commitment to obedience.

Today we look at the importance and the power of repentance. A word we normally has a negative stance in the church today yet, it is the most powerful thing that we can do to get closer to God. We see how the Spirit of God leads to people to gather once again to hear the word but this time gives them the heart to repent and therefore an opportunity to draw closer to God.

This week we look at how the people respond to the conviction of the word of God being read. However, Ezra and Nehemiah direct the people to not remain in conviction but to see that God is doing something good and holy instead.

Here we look at important factors for revival and renewal of heart. We see how the people of Israel desire the word of God and how they attentively listen to it. We also see how they respond to it after it has been read and how the leaders helped them to understand it. Revival starts with a renewal of heart in the believer.

Here we look at how the physical work affects and supports the spiritual work than needs to take place. We also look at the importance of remaining faithful to God and choosing Him even when it means uprooting to follow Him.
