In day 11 of our 32 day General Conference Prep Challenge, we cover the very first talk of April 2024 General Conference: "Motions of a Hidden Fire" by President Jeffrey R. Holland. This talk centers on the idea of prayer. We can assess our own prayer life by studying President Holland's ideas of what prayer could or should look like.

Today is day 9 of our 32 day General Conference Prep Challenge. We covered President Mark L Pace's talk, "It is Wisdom in the Lord that we should have the Book of Mormon." I love any opportunity to discuss the Book of Mormon and testify of it, so of course I loved today. We talk (again) about the importance of questions and how they can spark personal desires in us.

Today is day 8/32 of our General Conference Prep Challenge! We studied Elder Neil L Andersen's talk "Temple, Houses of the Lord Dotting the Earth." I love learning about the temple, and this talk help me see the power in each of the four blessings he outlines. I mention my own very favorite scripture and I tell a personal story in which I get very emotional- sorry, not sorry!

Today is day 7 of our 32 day General Conference Prep challenge. We studied Elder Held's talk "Opposition in All Things." I made a connection between this talk and my very favorite general conference talk "Bear up their Burdens with Ease" by Elder Bednar in April of 2014. I also talk about spiritual bypassing and the value of allowing yourself to feel the negative emotions. Elder Held says there are always two sides of the coin when we are struggling, but sometimes we can't see them both. I believe it is a skill to be able to do so.

Day 6/32 in our General Conference Prep Challenge. For those of you who are waiting to go back to "regularly scheduled programming" we will be back with that the first full week of October. Thank you for sticking with it!

We discussed Elder Stevenson's talk "Bridging the Two Great Commandments." This is one of my favorite talks from April 2024 General Conference, and I was actually IN San Francisco when I was studying the talk for the first time. Elder Stevenson uses the Golden Gate bridge to make an analogy between the two great commandments. It's a true masterpiece, and I highly encourage you to study it. But if you don't, listening to my thoughts might be a second-best choice.
