In today's episode, I sit down with Leontine, a T1D of 30 years from the Netherlands. Leontine's diagnosis is another example of a broken system and how we aren't being seen, heard, or listened too. We discussed her Diabetes challenges, being diagnosed at 20 years old and starting her modeling career, and how she was able to overcome the obstacles in her life. For all of you ladies, we also talked about her symptoms and challenges going through menopause and the lack of support and fundamental understanding there is out there.

We discuss the challenges they faced after being diagnosed at different stages of life and how having each other to share ideas made managing their Diabetes significantly easier. Each sister has a distinct approach to managing her condition: Charlotte uses a traditional insulin pump with a closed-loop system, while Caroline utilizes a DIY system. Both women highlight the importance of having a strong support system, emphasizing that it doesn't matter what type of management you choose as long as it works for you!
