Following the very successful Isiliel show at The Black Heart Camden, we had to have a chat with Isiliel writer, composer and producer Nikken. Today we get chatting with everything behind the scenes in creating Moonbow Rebellion especially as well as discussing the creative process, imagination and believing in adding beauty to the world. I’m sure it’ll come through that the main focus is all about connection in so many forms. 

We speak a lot about the emotional connections that drive creativity, and the importance of connecting with fans and the energy of the music written and performed.

The discussion highlights the journey of artists and the community that supports them, knowing that music is a shared experience that resonates deeply with both creators and listeners. We focus heavily on creativity, and personal growth… And we simply cannot forget the importance of trusting one's intuition, the nature of beauty and perception, and the role of adaptability in navigating life's challenges.

We had a ton of fun catching up with Stone from the Swedish band the Trench Dogs. After several years, we finally met in person at their show at the Hope & Anchor in Islington and had a great time catching up!

Today we are discussing the profound impact of art on our daily lives. I’ve been thinking a lot about this concept of the world without art. In many ways, it is not a world that would exist full stop as every little thing we have requires creativity and design. But let’s be real, the world would absolutely suck without the arts. 

More and more venues are coming out and reminding people to buy their tickets early to avoid shows being cancelled and to keep these music venues going strong. It makes a massive difference if you shop those tickets early and support artists while they continue to grow. I am also talking about the accessibility of concerts and the importance of supporting local artists, highlighting the disparity in the music scene between the UK and North America. If we’re all here for the love of art and expression and allowing music to change the world, keep going. Keep showing up for the things you love. We’re the only ones that can do this together!

Though this episode was meant to come at you a week earlier, some scheduling and technical issues got in the way but today is certainly a fitting day to talk about the critical need for rest and resetting in our busy lives. I am talking burnout and the importance of taking breaks to maintain productivity and mental health. We’re giving a quick overview of the difference between restorative rest and mindless activities like scrolling on social media. I advocate for hobbies and nature as healthier alternatives. 

Let’s redefine what rest looks like. What self care looks like. What relaxation looks like. Today is about restorative energy.

II went into the city over the weekend with nothing specific to do, but I took this time to check out some local shops, wander around, people watch… and it felt so good. Today felt the same as I walked through Soho without a set place I needed to be. Sometimes these simple acts can be exactly the rejuvenation we need. What’s your favourite way to relax, reset, and give yourself a fresh perspective on life? The space for a mental reset is where the creativity flows, where new ideas take place and where you begin to see really growth. Making this a priority is a key for long term success.

While some of the principles come from our Feng Shui practice, I always find its a great way to get grounded, shift energy and get realigned with our goals and our purpose. I’ve been working on my house the past few weeks to get things flowing, feeling inspired and energised and welcoming fresh opportunities in. 

Decluttering doesn’t mean you need to get rid of everything you own. But it can mean organising, streamlining, holding the things you love closely and cultivating a space that fosters comfort and happiness for you.

Sometimes when I do these episodes, I need the pep talk myself and I hope that it helps you get ready to step into a place of full confidence, authenticity and self acceptance. Confidence has been top of mind and discussion for a few weeks and I have been surprised to hear how people view themselves and the people around them. We can give ourselves a gift of stepping into that energy ourselves and making sure we are working with our strengths, finding confidence and sharing our gifts with the world! 

I wobble up and down with confidence and I sure try my best but I know it can be a really difficult thing for me. These are some of my little tips and things I do to help me through some of the hard times. Be kind to yourself. Be open to listen and experience… accept compliments and positivity that comes your way. And hand it out to everyone you know.

Today we are about confidence, self-acceptance, and the importance of rewriting one's own narrative. I had a moment with a dress that I've owned for a few years and the stories that had been put on me to build up my shame story. Well, I think it's important to reflect and rewrite the script. Because the story somebody wrote for you is not the story that you need to carry with you through life. 

I love this dress. And I'll keep wearing it, rewriting my stories and pushing forward on that healing path!  We need empowerment, we need to break taboos, and to embrace our own unique stories.
