How do you deal with a spouse who is verbally abusive? What is a short, “elevator pitch” for talking about SEL? I’ll be answering these questions and reading great news from a listener in Indiana today at the show. SHOW NOTES
It’s easy to lob bombs at each other over the not-so-imaginary fence lines that social media has expertly constructed, isn’t it? How do we bridge the divide between us in a time when we don’t need to be in the same room to inflict harm on each other? Dr. Jeff Myers has brilliant insight to share as we talk about the power of relationship and why we must engage, instead of trying to escape the hard conversations. Let’s grapple with the hard things rather than run from opposing points of view. SHOW NOTES
Our world in experiencing massive polarization—both politically and personally. After Covid and a divisive political season, how do we make progress? Dr. Jeff Myers joins me today to talk about why it’s so important that we have a commitment to the pursuit of truth. The Internet is not reality. It has monetized and capitalized on our national anger—but God has a better way. Truth and relationships go together! SHOW NOTES
“Thanksgiving is a day of national mourning.” For decades, activists on the Left have made attempts to turn Thanksgiving into a time of national guilt rather than a day for national gratefulness. So what’s the truth? Do we have reason to celebrate this Thanksgiving? Today I’ll be talking about the history of Thanksgiving and pausing to celebrate the providence and provision of God on our nation. We have reason—many reasons, in fact, to be thankful. SHOW NOTES
Recently a listener wrote in to ask what is wrong with DEI training. After all, she said, her black friend was the DEI director at her work and thinks it's wonderful. DEI, like CRT, SEL and CSE (a quick internet search will reveal what these woke acronyms stand for) are all part of the cultural Marxism that we are being forced to serve up with our Thanksgiving dinners this year. Hint: they do not mean what most of us thought they would mean. Definitions have changed in the woke world of ever-changing standards and absurdity. Good news, though! We can fight this and win with one word: TRUTH. SHOW NOTES
I am frequently asked if Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is dangerous to our kids. In a word: YES. Today I’ll be doing a deep dive into the perils of SEL and, after the commercial break, encouraging a homeschool mama who is facing challenging circumstances at home. SHOW NOTES
Kristi Clover joins me today to talk about ways we can enjoy the upcoming holiday season and not let it run us over. The key?! SIMPLIFY!! SHOW NOTES
Join me today as we talk about the importance of remembering Thanksgiving. I'll also be answering listener-submitted questions on the show. SHOW NOTES
Lord, help me want to want to obey. Today's culture values emotions over obedience, but biblical love is different from an emotional response to a simple command. Obedience demonstrates that we love Jesus. Join me today as we discuss the importance of obedience. SHOW NOTES
There is a shift happening among Christians and it is occurring in many churches, not just so-called Progressive churches. Many Christians claim that the Bible doesn’t forbid homosexual activity or that its commands aren’t valid for today, but rather that is was simply a reflection of the culture in which the Bible was written.
So how can we know God’s heart? We have to know what He thinks. So how do we find out what God thinks? The Christian says to look in the Bible. God’s Word is clear: the Bible tells us that God forbids homosexual acts. Therefore, they are wrong. It’s important to remember that sexual sin is no worse than any other sin—but the question of premeditation makes it a serious one.
Christians, we must adhere to God’s Word in every area of our lives. When we stray outside God’s boundaries, we forfeit His blessing. Today I’ll be addressing this topic and several other issues from a Biblical point of view. SHOW NOTES
