First, we hear from our friends Laurie Winiecke and her Father Alex and how they make a great team. You'll hear from Alex Winiecke about being a mostly single dad raising a beautiful daughter who is on the autism spectrum, and from his daughter Laurie Winiecke about how having the support of her dad has helped in who she is today and her success at securing a job from inclusive employer, Hilton Garden Inn in Broken Arrow.

Then, we’ll be out and about among the hidden workforce on the scene of an actual job site! Tune in to Mr. DJ Young as he works while explaining his job as a cleaner with All Clean and why he loves it. We also hear from Alec Link, DJ's job coach, and Jennifer Baker, DJ's Employment Coordinator.

Lastly, we’ll chat with Deidra Thompson, founder of Resolute Advocacy and Interventions! Diedra is a mom of three sons, two of whom are teenagers living exceptional lives with autism. She chats with us about her oldest and his new diagnoses, how her sons are the reason she became an advocate, the barriers she experienced in communication with both her sons' school along with feeling overwhelmed and alone at their IEP meetings, and how their care and needs led to the beginning phases of her business. She attended a conference hosted by Oklahoma Parents Center (OPC) which led to her joining Autism Muskogee hosted by Autism Oklahoma. She was then recruited as a trainer for OPC to help train parents to be the best advocates for their kids and while at OPC she served on the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Council. Additionally, being a former CASA coordinator she developed a strong background in working with and advocating for children. This week we have special guest, Valyncia Wilson with the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services. Graduating from Langston University with a Bachelors in Sociology and a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling, Valyncia has dedicated the past 13 years working with the State of Oklahoma. For 10 years she served as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist and now she is a Programs Manager with OKDRS. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and in addition to full-time employment with OKDRS she is employed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Supervisor (LPC-Supervisor). She has committed her practice for persons with mental, physical, and health disabilities as well as an ally for individuals of marginalized groups/populations.
