The visibility of nonbinary people in popular culture is at an all-time high. From central characters on television shows to nonbinary actors and artists gracing the covers of fashion magazines, the likelihood of people not knowing of a nonbinary person is growing slimmer by the day. Entertainment Weekly's Untold Stories: Beyond the Binary promises to contribute to popular discourse about representation on and off screen through the lens of the nonbinary actors, musicians, artists and writers paving their own ways.
In this episode, host Tre'vell Anderson takes a step back to chart the path from which we came and ask our guests about instances of seeing themselves reflected in popular culture -- whether intentional or not. Tre'vell also speaks with author and advocate Jeffrey Marsh and musician and artist Mykki Blanco about their journeys in the public eye.
Guests: Bob The Drag Queen (@thatonequeen), Lachlan Watson, Shamir (@ShamirBailey), Rhea Butcher (@RheaButcher), Rebecca Sugar (@rebeccasugar), Noelle Stevenson (@Gingerhazing), Jacob Tobia (@JacobTobia), Devin-Norelle (@DevinNorelle), ALOK (@alokvmenon), Jeffrey Marsh (@thejeffreymarsh) and Mykki Blanco (@MykkiBlanco).
Host/Producer: Tre'vell Anderson (@TrevellAnderson); Producer: Carly Usdin (@carlytron); Editor/Engineer: Samee Junio (@Samee_Junio); Executive Producer: Shana Naomi Krochmal (@shananaomi).
