Though the Israelites were not able to be cursed by Balaam, there was something that could be done that would cause the Israelites to become weakened. Not on the battlefield, but rather through the practice of Sexual cult rituals.

After their victories over King Og and Sihon, the Israelites would camp in the Plains of Moab. This would cause fear in the Moabite king; so he would call in for a little help. The man he would call is Balaam. Who in the history books is Balaam?

Why would the Lord want to kill the Canaanites? All men, women, and children were to be killed. In essence genocide. Was the Lord just wanting to kill the Canaanites because, or was there a specific reason that the Lord called for the Israelites to kill all of the Canaanites?

The Israelites would ask to cross through the territory of one nation after another on their journey north after rounding the Edomites. All of them would say no, however, two nations would do more than just say no. The battle for the Promised Land would come sooner than expected!

When the wandering was finally over, and the mourning of Aaron was completed, the Israelites were once again ready to enter the Promised Land. But they ran into some issues. First, the King of Arad comes and attacks the Israelites, capturing some of them in a raid. And then on top of that, the Israelite's plan of entry into the Promised Land had changed, adding weeks if not months to the travel time!

All actions come with consequences. Some are good, others not so good. The consequences of not obeying and trusting God for the leaders of the Israelites would cost them to not step into the Promised Land.

The Israelites had finally gotten themselves to the border of the Promised Land, they even sent spies into the land to check the best routes. However, they were not allowed to enter the land, instead they were sent right back in the direction from which they came.  This would begin the wandering in the Wilderness for a total of 40 years.

The fear that the Israelites had was real. And it was logical! Yet, despite the fear they should have looked to God to be the one that would bring them through their trails. However, they turned their backs to God and trusted in themselves and their own abilities when it came to conquering the Land of Canaan
