First up was discussion of how NASCAR handled the noose/not a noose issue that roiled their sport (not a sport…) last week. Steve was critical of their PR bungling while John articulated the larger context. Chris was still confounded by NASCAR as a sport. Next up was the trend in COVID 19 related opt-out clauses for upcoming/ start/restart of pro sports leagues. The NBA already has this and now MLB has it as well. Hi Ryan Zimmerman. This crossed over into competitive balance issues, player safety, risk management and labor relations. It also allowed the gang to dunk on the Washington Wizards.
