A caravan approached from the east, and it was impressive. The leaders of this group, most likely, from Persia, but possibly from the deserts of Arabia, were noble, dignified, and kingly, though they were not kings. They were learned men, scholars of their day, and students of the stars. They studied the heavens for signs and wonders and they also knew stories. They knew stories of the Jewish people and their hope that from their midst a ruler would come who would bring true justice and peace to the world.
