Still wondering why: Dylan opens up the show continuing his conversation on the Falcons loss to the Commanders on Sunday and questions the decision to go for two after scoring late in the game and admits that he does not understand “the benefit” of going for two at the time and does not make a “whole lot of sense”.  Dylan the reacts to comments from coach Arthur Smith from his presser on Monday.

The offense let us down: Dylan opens up the show with his reaction to the Braves loss to the Phillies in Game 4 of the NLDS and being eliminated from postseason play and for Dylan, he believes that the only place to place blame is the lack of offensive production. Dylan adds that he believes the Braves had plenty of chances to win last night’s game, in particular in the top of the sixth inning with the Braves trailing 3-1, when Ronald Acuna Jr. stepped up to the plate with two outs and bases loaded and flew out to center field.

Moving right along: Dylan shifts gears to preview the Falcons, Commanders matchup on Sunday believes that the Falcons have to take advantage of the poor pass defense that Washington enters the game with. Offensively, Dylan believes that it will be important for Atlanta to get off to a fast start and that they should be able to score at least three touchdowns and predicts that the Falcons can win by a score of 30-20.

Dylan opens up with his reaction to the Braves getting beat down by the Phillies 10-2 on Wednesday and now finding themselves down 2-1 in the NLDS and while very disappointed by the outcome, Dylan admits that in the back of his mind if he a feeling things would not go the Braves way. Dylan adds that with the fact that Bryce elder had been “shakey” of late is what led to his belief that the Phillies would pick up the win. However, despite how things went last night for Atlanta, with Spencer Strider on the mound tonight, Dylan says he is feeling “optimistic” about them being able to pull off a Game 4 win.

Dylan comes back with more on the Braves and reiterates that he feels good about Spencer Strider taking the mound tonight in Game 4 adding that with baseball being a “weird game” and anything can happen on any given day and fans just need to believe in the team. He then takes calls from listeners to allow them to share their thoughts.

Dylan wraps up his conversation on the Braves reiterating that he is confident that Spencer Strider will give Atlanta the much needed performance from the mound and the bats will heat up as they are long overdue for a big hit game in the series. He then pivots to the Falcons and previews their matchup with the Commanders on Sunday and states that he does have concerns about the defensive front the Commanders have, however, with Washington being bad in pass defense, Dylan hopes the Falcons can take advantage of it.

While Dylan Mathews is confident the Braves can pull off the win, he asks the question about who will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta. While there has been some chatter that the Braves may look to make it a bullpen game, Dylan does not agree with that approach and believes Bryce Elder is “good enough,” when his location is on, to give Atlanta five to six innings.

It’s a critical night: Dylan opens up with some Braves talk and shares his thoughts on Game 3 of the NLDS against the Phillies is a must win. And while he his confident that the Braves can pull off the win, Dylan ask the question about who will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta. While there has been some chatter that the Braves may look to make it a bullpen game, Dylan is not in agreeance with that approach should the Braves go that route and believes that Bryce Elder is “good enough” when his location is on, to give Atlanta five to six innings.

Dylan jumps into a brief preview of the Falcons matchup with the Commanders this Sunday and shares his thoughts on how Atlanta can have success on offense against a ”stout” defensive front of Washington. Dylan does believe that the Falcons can find success through the air against the Commanders as long as pass protection can hold up. Dylan then shares his thoughts on the Falcons trading for Van Jefferson, which he says he likes the move because of Jefferson’s ability to “take the top off the defense” and stretch the defense.

In his final segment, Dylan takes it to the court as the Atlanta Hawks hosted the Cavaliers on Tuesday in the first pre-season game of the year and ultimately, Dylan says that he liked what he saw from the Hawks in the win over Cleveland. And while the Hawks did not make any type of major roster change after trading John Collins, Dylan believes that the Hawks have the talent to still be a top four team in the Eastern Conference.

Dylan opens up with a recap of the Falcons win over the Texans and states how impressed he was with the defense as they have continued to play well and despite a couple of fumbles, the way their offense gathered themselves to pull away for the victory has him believing the offense ultimately looked the way it is supposed to look on Sunday

Dylan returns with some Braves talk as they get ready for game two against the Phillies in the NLDS and after dropping game one on Saturday, Dylan says the bats of the Braves were simply cold, especially in key moments when Atlanta had runners in scoring position but failed to get the ball in play. He then allows listeners to call in to share their thoughts.

Dylan says the big take away for him from Sunday’s Falcons’ win is the team looks like what was expected to see with good ball distribution and leads him to ask if that may have been a “coming of age” moment for Desmond Ridder as he believes that Ridder had the best performance of his pro career.

Dylan adds that defensively, they have to make sure they keep CJ Stroud from throwing down field and keep everything in front of them. And offensively, Dylan believes that the Falcons simply need to be better on first down and that he would like to see Tyler Allgeier have more touches.

Dylan opens up with a brief recap of the MLB Wild Card results and with the Phillies defeating the Marlins and setting them up to face the Braves in the NLDS, beginning on Saturday, Dylan expresses his pleasure in seeing the Braves having a chance to get redemption against the Phillies, after being eliminated from the postseason last year by their NL East foes.

Dylan Reacts to various audio clips from Arthur Smith, Desmond Ridder and Bijan Robinson and shares his thoughts on Smith discussing how he helps Ridder stay confident while dealing with criticism from the media and Dylan states he believes that hearing Smith make these comments should make those calling for Ridder to be replaced understand that Smith is going to stick with Ridder and those conversations need to stop at least for now.

Dylan continues to react to various audio clips from the Falcons and in particular, Arthur Smith discussing how the Falcons will have to knock the Texans off schedule as CJ Stroud has been leading their offense and playing well in their back to back wins. Dylan adds that as Bud Dupree stated in his comments, pressuring Stroud will be important and with Stroud being a rookie, can be “good” as it can force him into passing eras.

Dylan opens up the show with a preview of the Falcons and Texans matchup for Sunday and give Texans QB CJ Stroud some props as he is currently fourth in the NFL in passing yards and been efficient on third and fourth down conversions, something Dylan believes that the Falcons will need to work early to keeping Stroud contained.

Dylan briefly recaps some of the results of the MLB Wild Card matchups and most importantly, the Phillies and Marlins series as the Braves will have to face the winner and Dylan points out the performance of Phillies pitcher Zach Wheeler, who struck out eight, allowing five hits and no walks through 6.2 innings. Dylan adds that while the Phillies are starting to look good, he would prefer the Braves face them in the NLDS so they can get some payback from being eliminated by the Phillies last season.

Dylan wraps with a preview of Atlanta United’s matchup with Philadelphia tonight and with a win, United can pick up the three points and move into fourth as they look to reach the postseason. Dylan believes that the key for United will be getting onto the scoreboard first and having momentum in their favor early and putting more pressure on Philadelphia.

Dylan opens up with his continuing his conversation on the Falcons loss to the Jaguars o Sunday and points to the fact Arthur Smith has made it clear that they will be sticking with Desmond Ridder at quarterback. Dylan believes that fans have to understand that Ridder has to be given more time to prove whether he is or is not the franchise quarterback

Dylan goes into why Falcons’ fans should feel positive above the remainder of the season despite the offensive struggles the past two weeks. Dylan believes that Atlanta has potentially played the toughest part of their schedule in his opinion, therefore, if the Falcons can work out their issues, they can still have a successful season and potentially still reach the post-season.

Dylan wraps up the show sharing his thoughts on seeing a Spider-Man meme that he saw which depicted Desmond Ridder being compared to Daniel Jones. Dylan believes that the comparison is not warranted and adds that he believes Ridder is a “more polished passer” than Jones and that if polled, he believes many people would choose Ridder over Jones. Dylan then briefly discusses the Atlanta Hawks media Day, stating that hearing from Trae Young and Dejounte Murray on working hard together over the off-season is a good thing.
