The Honorable Betsy DeVos, former U.S. Secretary of Education, sat down with Center for Christian Virtue (CCV) President Aaron Baer at the 2023 Celebration Gala in Columbus just a few weeks ago. Thanks to her leadership, we've seen dramatic school choice expansions over the last 20 years in Ohio, and now we could see the Backpack Bill–a universal education freedom initiative–enacted.
There have been few school choice leaders in the public square like The Honorable Betsy DeVos, so we wanted her keynote remarks and this conversation to be available on a special episode of The Narrative.
Before the interview, Aaron, Communications Director Mike Andrews, and Policy Director David Mahan unpack the SAFE Act, a bill to ban the experimental and dangerous practice of giving children puberty-blocking drugs and wrong-sex hormones for the purpose of “gender transitioning,” and why the opponent hearing this week was actually good for the bill's progress. They also honor Tim Keller and discuss the need for Christians to be engaged in culture and politics.
