Dan Poole was the Young Victorian of the Year in 2018 for his work as a social entrepreneur (most notably, Society Melbourne and Anika Legal) and pro bono lawyer.
Through Society Melbourne, Dan has played an active role in bringing more than 20 young people out of homelessness through directed employment, training and housing opportunities. His efforts have culminated in being one of the most profitable social enterprises in Australia.
As a co-founder of legal access-to-justice start-up Anika Legal, he is at the service to the 160,000 people across Australia who currently do not have access to free, quality legal advice each year (despite desperately needing it), and to the countless law students who do not have access to practical legal training.
Together, we can all learn from Dan.
