Jordan Kurkowski is a successful hunter from Wisconsin who takes being aggressive to a new level. Through his never ending scouting, Jordan learns how mature bucks are using the marsh and then moves in for the kill. The difference between other hunters and Jordan is his aggressive setup is on the GROUND! Jordan has never shot a buck out of a tree stand and he believes hunting from the ground gives him more of an advantage to get close to big bucks that feel secure in their bedding areas in vast cattail marshes. If you are wanting to add new tactics to your playbook before heading to the marsh or swamp this fall you won't want to miss this episode!

Many hunters always wish they had more time to hunt. But in reality, most of us have busy schedules and other obligations that force us to pick and choose what days we can hunt. Joe Elsinger is no exception. Through his experience and his attention to historical weather data and how it relates to his trail camera data he has learned how to hunt specific weather conditions that put deer into predictable bedding areas. If you want to improve your chances this season on limited time, some of these conditions may be something that you look for in the weather forecast!

Jared Scheffler of Whitetail Adrenaline grew up participating in deer drives and still uses the tactic as one of the many unique strategies that he uses to shoot big bucks on public land. Jared and Zach discuss their strategies for doing small deer drives to bump bucks out of specific bedding areas. They also discuss their thoughts on how difficult it really is to be effective at driving deer with small groups of people. Whether you are a deer driving pro, someone who wants to improve your gun hunting playbook, or even a non gun hunter, this podcast will likely make you think about how there really is an art to deer drives!

The members of Born and Raised Outdoors are no strangers to diving into new areas while traveling to hunt elk. If you have ever had any interest in expanding your hunting knowledge by going after a new species, then hopefully this podcast will help show you how easy it can be to start. Kody Kellom and the other members of BRO have a great track record hunting elk on over the counter or general elk tags that anyone can take advantage of. Similar to The Hunting Public’s approach to whitetail hunting, the Born and Raised crew hunts elk very aggressively and have a ton of encounters with elk in a season. Throughout this podcast, Zach and Kody discuss what it takes to get into the elk woods from a logistics standpoint and then also explain what to expect once you hit the woods for your first elk hunt.

Topics Include:

-the gear it takes to start elk hunting

-how to avoid hunting pressure

-how to get meat out of the woods without it spoiling

Nathan Killen has hunted the mountains of Virginia his whole life and has had great success hunting close to mature buck bedding areas. During the off-season, Nathan spends a lot of time scouting in areas he suspects there to be mature bucks and tries to figure out where they may be bedding. Once he finds these areas he hunts around the bedding cover which is usually on steep hillsides that are thick with mountain laurel. If you hunt any big timber or hill country bucks you won't want to miss out on learning from Nathan's success!

Warren Womack has been hunting large tracts of public land in the South for the majority of his hunting career. In these large, unbroken, tracts of timber he has spent many hours scouting throughout the hunting season looking for the hot sign he wants to setup on. Unlike the broken habitat of the Midwest, the south has much more potentail for bedding cover. Instead of hunting bedding areas, Warren's main focus is hunting "feed trees." In this episode, Warren talks about how to find these feed trees and how scouting in season has led him to a lot of success hunting public land in the south. Not only has Warren had great success from his many days in the field, he also has some pretty crazy stories of which he shares a few in this episode.

THP uses two main trail camera strategies that differ greatly. One strategy is more of an investment for the future and the other is used to get information that can be used in-season to pattern bucks. In this episode, Zach and Jake talk about specific situations where they have used trail cameras to pattern bucks in-season and even more specifically during the "October Lull". They talk about how to setup these cameras, how to setup around them, and what NOT to do when using trail cameras. This discussion will hopefully help you know when to confidently dive into bedding areas and make aggressive sits during the early part of the season, based off of your trail camera info.

Through trial and error, he taught himself how to locate mature bucks in one of the hardest regions of the country to pursue whitetails.
