Ep 20 Thiago Jesus on reimagining Indigenous collaborations with artists from the Kuikuro people in the Brazilian Amazon
In part one of our conversation, Wei and Ileana talk to creative producer, curator and researcher, Thiago Jesus on the first two of his current art projects with Indigenous Kuikuro artist Takuma Kuikuro, “OCA RED: The Nature of Living Together, 2021” in La Biennale di Venezia and “Natural Future Museums” part of the Reimagining Museums for Climate Action exhibition at Glasgow Science Centre for #COP26. We discuss what it means to be in equal collaboration with Indigenous peoples, the provocation of giving Indigenous lands museum status and how this Cop26 might be the most important even of our lifetime.
