Jesus has resurrected and ascended - so what now? What do the disciples do?? They are obedient, they spend time in prayer, and they fellowship with one another until the promised Holy Spirit comes. But there's a big task before that happens - replacing Judas.

Comparing the beginning of Luke and Acts, we can see that Acts is truly about the Acts of the Holy Spirit. After he is poured out on believers they carry out the message of Christ's enthronement and role as Judge of the Universe. This is our message too.

Jesus takes His disciples to Caesarea Philippi and it is there that Peter makes the good confession. This passage also has connections to Isaiah 22. We tackle several questions in this podcast such as questions over apostolic authority and the papacy. What is the authority over the church today?  Was Peter the leader of the early church? 

In Psalm 22 we get a prophetic picture of the crucifixion of Jesus 1000 years before the event. 

As we begin a new sermon series in Acts on Sunday mornings, it's only fitting that we take a moment to look at the final words of Jesus as He gives His disciples the "Great Commission". 

In this Psalm, we are challenged to see the Lord as one full of joy. Do our lives reflect the joy of heaven? 

He was more than just a baby - His birth was the one event in history that changed the way we look at time.
