Peter is once again given the opportunity to preach to a crowd. He and John have just healed the lame man and, as the crowd looks at them in amazement, he starts by asking them, "Why are you looking at us?" And then he points them to The One who healed this man - Jesus of Nazareth, the one they killed.

The writer of Hebrews reminds us of the great privileges we have in Jesus Christ. We have access to God and can come boldly into His presence. He also gives us three exhortations or responsibilities that we have because of our privileges. Listen along as we discuss the privileges and responsibilities that we have in Jesus. 

We are reminded that through Jesus Christ we have a wonderful blessing. We have access to the Lord of Glory. 

In Acts 2 we witness the first gospel sermon, the first Christians, and the first church. The first church is marked out by devoting themselves to the Apostles' teaching, fellowship, prayer, the Lord's Supper. 

Peter finishes his sermon on the Day of Pentecost and his audience is stunned - "what should we do? Is there any hope for us?" And if it was in a modern day church, this is when you'd cue the invitation song!

Peter and John heal a lame man by the Beautiful Gate at the temple in Jerusalem. 

Peter stands up at Pentecost to preach the first gospel sermon. He begins his sermon by going back to the prophet Joel to demonstrate that Pentecost was part of God's great plan. 

In Acts 2 we witness the birth of the church on the day of Pentecost. Jesus was crucified on Passover infusing that feast we new meaning. Now the new covenant people of God is born on the feast day when Israel remembered God forming a covenant with them at Mount Sinai.
