Today we’re in John 10, and this chapter is full of richness. Jesus calls Himself the door, the only true access to eternal life. He calls Himself the good shepherd, the One who knows His sheep by name, loves them, protects them, and even lays down His life for them.

And throughout the chapter, Jesus repeats this truth, “My sheep know My voice, and they follow Me.”

What a gift it is to have a shepherd like Jesus. Not only do we have eternal life in Him, but we also have a life filled with purpose, abundance, guidance, protection, mercy, and love here and now.

This chapter leaves us with a challenge. If we want to recognize His voice, we have to know Him. And we come to know His heart and character by consuming His Word. The more we read the Scriptures, the more familiar His voice becomes.

May we learn to discern the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow Him closely.

Without Christ, we were all outsiders to God, spiritual refugees. When Jesus came, He didn't just save us, He destroyed the walls between us and God and between each other. And now we are included in the Kingdom and Family of God.

Today we’re in John 9, where Jesus heals a man who was born blind. The disciples ask the question we all tend to ask in hard moments, “Why did this happen?” Was it because of sin? Was it someone’s fault?

Jesus responds with a different perspective. He says this happened so that the power of God could be seen.

So often when we face pain, uncertainty, or obstacles, we wonder where God is and how He’s working. We feel confused, lost, or broken. But Jesus reminds us that God is still present, still moving, and still purposeful.

Your story matters. What you’re walking through is not wasted. God is using it to shape your heart, deepen your faith, and reveal His power.

Today, let there be a shift. Believe that your Father loves you deeply and that He is working everything together for His good, even now.

Today we’re in John 8, and what stands out is how this chapter begins and ends. It opens with a woman caught in adultery, brought before Jesus by religious leaders trying to trap Him with the law. But Jesus responds with grace. “Let the one without sin cast the first stone.” One by one, they walk away. And Jesus tells her, “I don’t condemn you. You’re free. Go and sin no more.”

Later in the chapter, another debate breaks out. Full of technicalities, arguments, and religion. Jesus tells them they’re slaves to sin, and they push back, missing the point entirely. At one point Jesus says they can’t even hear Him. Their spiritual ears were deaf.

They were so focused on being technically right that they missed the freedom standing in front of them.

And if we’re honest, we can do the same. We can get so caught up in rules, arguments, and being right that we miss the grace, salvation, and liberty that come from believing in Jesus.

My prayer today is that we don’t miss the point. That we live free. That we remember we’re not condemned. And that we love others the way Christ has loved us.

There is freedom in Jesus. Live in it.

Today we’re in John 7, right after the feeding of the 5,000. As the Feast of Tabernacles approaches, Jesus stays in Galilee, even though His own brothers urge Him to go to Judea and make Himself known. Scripture tells us that at this point, even His brothers didn’t yet believe in Him.

Their message was essentially, If you’re really who you say you are, prove it. But Jesus wasn’t chasing visibility or fame. He was submitted to the Father’s timing and will.

Sometimes our ideas are logical. Sometimes they even seem good. But prayer helps us discern not just the right thing, but the right timing. Without it, we can easily lead ourselves or others in the wrong direction, or even the right direction at the wrong time.

So today, before running with your next brilliant idea, pause. Set it at the feet of Jesus. Ask Him what He would have you do.

Today we’re in John 6, the chapter where Jesus feeds the 5,000 with five loaves and two fish. But what follows is just as powerful. When the crowd continues to follow Him, Jesus tells them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never lack.”

Even after witnessing miracles, questions still rise. And if we’re honest, that’s human nature. We’ve seen God move, we’ve seen Him provide, and yet in hard seasons we still wrestle, still ask, still wonder.

Today is an invitation to let our faith grow. To trust again that Jesus truly is enough. That He provides what we need. That He has never failed and never will.

He was good yesterday.

He’s good today.

He’ll be good tomorrow.

He’s good always.

Let’s believe that again as we lean into Him.

Today we’re in John 5, at the pool of Bethesda. A place filled with people waiting for healing. Among them was a man who had been laying there for 38 years. Just waiting.

Jesus comes to him and asks a surprising question, “Do you want to be healed?” Not because Jesus didn’t know the answer, but because He wanted the man to seek Him.

The man responds by explaining why he can’t get into the pool. He was waiting on something else to heal him. But Jesus looks at him and says, “Pick up your mat and walk.” And instantly, he’s healed.

It was never about the water. Jesus is the living water. He is our healer.

So today, ask yourself, what am I waiting on to heal me? What am I placing my hope in outside of Jesus?

Today we’re in John 4, the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. She comes in the middle of the day, avoiding people, hiding in shame. Yet right there, in her hiddenness, Jesus meets her.

What’s amazing is what happens after that encounter. She goes back into town and tells everyone, “Come meet a man who knew everything about me.” And because of her story, others wanted to meet Jesus too.

As we continue in prayer and fasting, take a moment today to remember your own encounter with Jesus. Remember who He was when you first met Him. Remember how He changed your life. Let the goodness of God feel fresh again.

And then don’t be ashamed to tell your story. Wherever you are, God gives you opportunities to share what He’s done. Let’s see what happens when we allow God to use our stories to reveal His goodness and faithfulness.

Today we’re in John 3, the chapter that gives us John 3:16. But toward the end of the chapter, something powerful stands out. John the Baptist says, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life.”

What’s interesting is that he doesn’t contrast belief with unbelief. He contrasts belief with obedience. Because true belief is never passive. It’s so deep and authentic that it moves us to action.

What we truly believe always shows up in how we live.

My prayer for us today is that we wouldn’t settle for a box-checking faith like Nicodemus at the beginning of this chapter, but that we would have a deep, genuine faith in Jesus. A faith that finds real life in Him and allows that belief to shape everything we do.

May our belief lead us to obedience, and may obedience lead us into life.

We were moving in the wrong direction, "missing the mark" of who we were create to be and do. But God stepped in and provided a way and ability to go the right way for those who respond to His grace.
