Goodbye Olympus, Hello Nikon 24-200mm

This week, we discuss the recent announcement by Olympus to divest their camera business, plus the new features added to Adobe Lightroom Classic. Jason received a new Nikon 24-200mm for Z-mount, and Rick got the 10-20mm DX Nikkor to use with his Nikon Z50.

This week, we had the special opportunity to interview Nikon Ambassador Ron Magill, who is also the Director of Communications for Zoo Miami. During his 40 year career, Ron has become a proficient photographer as well as a spokesman for animal conservation world-wide. We discussed the role of photography in wildlife conservation, as well as tips for how to photograph wildlife at your local zoo. The Ron Magill Endowment has raised nearly $2 million to fund international wildlife conservation programs.

Sensor formats & resolution

Geo-tagging your photos

How much retouching is acceptable?

This week, we are talking retouching. Yes, every digital image must be processed, but how much manipulation is okay? From simple cloning of object to compositing and sky replacement, we discuss the (sometimes) controversial topic of image retouching and enhancement.

If you’re interested in sky replacement, the best tool we’ve found so far is Luminar from Skylum Software. It does an exceptional job of auto-masking your images and replacing skies.
