Our world has faced a difficult season that caused doubt, confusion, and anxiety in many churches. Many leaders wondered how on earth they’ll continue on in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. Yet, as Pastor Bill explains today, the body of Christ was faithful. Believers still longed for teaching and worship. And they understood the need to care for church leadership and continue to support the ministry happening. It was through this that God did miracle after miracle all over the place.

In the bible, there are obviously some obscure verses, which are difficult to understand. It’s tempting to skip over parts of scripture. But it’s important to understand all of scripture and, like New Testament writers, look deeper to see a greater application to the words God wrote. Some believers and some churches dismiss or ignore parts of scripture as outdated or unimportant today. However, as Pastor Bill teaches today, God uses and blesses His word – even Deuteronomy. All of it is His inspired word. It doesn’t matter how you feel about it. It’s His truth and it’s vital for believers. God will use His word for correction and instruction on living life. The law God gave His people was good and perfect. It laid out God’s expectations and requirements for life and salvation. However, humanity could never, ever measure up. Even thoughts condemned you. Yet, as Pastor Bill teaches today, God sent Jesus who could live as God required. He became your salvation and allowed you access to God. You can, as a believer go boldly to God Almighty without fear, knowing Jesus has saved you, washed you, and brought you to Him.

Every person, before faith in Jesus, has a hard, stubborn, sinful heart. They’re unable to live rightly or love as they should. Their hard heart rejects God’s words of truth and life. Until that is, the Holy Spirit leads you to a belief in Jesus. And once you have faith in Him, Pastor Bill teaches today, you are a new creation. God softens your heart. You can hear and understand God’s truth. And, now as a believer, you will want to live as God requires. You will want to love as God desires! And with His spirit in you, you’ll be able to as well.

Israel, God’s people, had a sin problem. The law was given and promptly broken. The law was never meant to save, but instead to point out how far from perfect humanity really was. The Lord required perfect obedience, perfect love, and perfect service. So, as Pastor Bill teaches today, since man is unable to live perfectly, God sent His Son, Jesus to do what man could not do. We, today, have a sin problem. We can’t live as we should. But if you know God, you get His righteousness by faith and a new heart to begin to live better.

The devil came against Jesus to tempt Him and try to defeat Him. Yet, Jesus, though weakened by hunger, never gave in to the temptations. Instead, he spoke God’s word from Deuteronomy and defeated the devil. Today, Pastor Bill will encourage you to, like Jesus, speak the word to the enemy to defeat him. Jesus knew scripture, but knowing it wasn’t enough. He spoke it. He declared truth, and the devil couldn’t stand under that. By the power of the Holy Spirit, believe and declare God’s truth and Satan can’t defeat you.

The Devil is often portrayed as a comical being with horns and a pitchfork. Most people don’t give the devil much more thought than that. Yet, as Pastor Bill teaches today, you have an enemy, the Devil. He’s real. He’s deceitful. He’s evil. He wants you for his own. But, He is not God. And because of that, you have great hope. You can stay strong in God to defeat the enemy. Cling to and rely on the Holy Spirit in you and know God’s word to fight the lies of the enemy. You’ll be victorious against Him with God on your side.

Anyone can see that there's evil in the world. And things seem to gradually be getting worse as time moves on. Believers can be tempted to panic, despair, and retreat from the world until the Lord returns. Today, Pastor Bill will encourage you to recognize the evil in the world and instead of fearing it, shine your light in its darkness. As a child of God, you are positioned to help the hurting world with God’s love and light. Fight back against evil with the word of God. The devil will not prevail in the end. God is triumphant!

God’s people have always been under His care. He’s always been sovereign over them. And though they have been disobedient, they are still His people. And from the beginning of time, God disciplines His people, but He is in control of that too. As Pastor Bill teaches today, when God’s enemies try to curse His people, God says no. But that doesn’t mean you are safe and untouchable. The enemy knows that though He can’t curse you, he can tempt you and deceive you. Knowing this, you must cling to God tightly!
