Job suffered probably the worst loss of anyone else in The Bible, and yet he still chose to follow God. He persevered through the hard times, choosing actively to keep his eyes on God. Science continues to give us more and more research and data to explain all possible things in the physical world. Technology makes volumes of information accessible to almost anyone. But no matter how much we learn and achieve, it never will end in us fully comprehending God and His ways. Pastor Bill’s going to encourage you today to keep that sense of wonder for God. Remember that you can’t know all there is to know about Him. That’s why He’s God. He is good, and He is higher than us.

When things got hard for Job, he knew where to go to get the strength and encouragement he needed. He looked up. He knew God was the source of all of his fortune already. On his own, he would have had nothing, but, as Pastor Bill’s going to point out in today’s message, Job actually had everything. He kept his eyes on God and trusted in Him to get him through the trials he was facing. He knew, like we should, too, that God won’t put us through anything that He can’t get us through in the first place.

Looking back at the times in the past when God has moved through you or came through for you or blessed you is important to remember when you’re facing new trials in the present. He’s more to Christians than just a means to material wealth or fame. In fact, as Pastor Bill’s going to point out today, it’s usually quite the opposite. Following God can be hard, and even bring hard times to you, but there’s always good to be found in any situation in God’s timing if you keep your focus on Him.

How do you live your life for Christ? Is it evident that He’s Who your hope is in for eternity? Does your life look different than those around you that haven’t been touched by Jesus yet?
