Twenty years ago, ordering things from the internet was uncommon, but today? Today is a different story. We live in a time when we can’t go to the store to get something, so we order it online with same-day shipping. We order everything online because we’re lazy! So today, Pastor Bill says it best, “A little hard work never hurt anybody.” In this message, Pastor Bill continues through the book of Proverbs and gives you advice on how to combat the spirit of laziness with some old-fashioned hard work.
Do you remember your first day of middle school? If you’re anything like me, you went to a public school and saw that everyone comes from different walks of life. But what people don’t know is that those years are the most important time for a growing child, and this is where most Christian children will be exposed to some sort of sinful nature. That’s why Pastor Bill urges parents to share the wisdom of the Lord with their young ones so that when they’re older, they will not depart from it.
Do you remember the day you gave your life to the Lord? For some, it may have been an instant change. But for others, it’s a long process of failing one day and succeeding the other. And if that’s you struggling with keeping your eyes on the Lord then today’s message is for you! Pastor Bill encourages you to read from the Book of Proverbs. When you first come to Christ, ask God for His wisdom; pray to Him and read from His Word. Let Jesus Christ come into your life and let Him change you from within.
When you go to college to study a specific field, you aim to use the knowledge you gain to secure a job in that area. So when you come to God and learn from His Word, will you continue to do wrong or apply what you've learned? In today’s message, Pastor Bill encourages you to use the wisdom that comes from God and allow Him to use your life for His will. And if you find yourself asking where to read and learn from God’s Word, all you have to do is open the Bible and allow God to speak to you!
What does trusting the Lord in all of your ways look like? Is it letting Jesus take the wheel at night? No, but it does mean that you’re allowing Jesus into every area of your life. Most people give their hearts to the Lord but don’t trust Him with their finances. Other people allow God to fix their problems but don’t remember Him when things are going well or vice versa. So in today’s message, Pastor Bill wants you to allow Jesus into every area of your life, not just the areas you’re willing to surrender.
Have you ever seen those videos on the internet of people doing a trust fall and their friends don’t catch them? Talk about anxiety, and that’s only a game. Could you imagine if that were a life-and-death scenario? It is when it comes to your faith. Living life without God is like letting nothing catch you after a trust fall. But in today’s message, Pastor Bill wants you to know that when you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you can rest knowing that He will always be there to catch you. All you have to do is believe!
If you’re a parent, you know that when your child is born, there are certain things you don't give them access to. That’s why you baby-proof your whole house! But whose responsibility is it to protect the child? It’s yours! Your common sense tells you that your baby isn’t ready for these things. And like your knowledge, God gives you the wisdom to tell helpful from harmful. So in today’s message, Pastor Bill wants you to know that wisdom isn’t just knowing right from wrong, but a way to deliver you from evil.
When you fill up your car, you understand that the gas will run out eventually. And like those who drive past the gas station, some see God but choose something else. They believe that they can get to their destination without stopping to refuel. So in today's message, Pastor Bill warns you to stop neglecting your spiritual needs and slow down; STOP! When you come into this world, you go down a path many will spend their lives on, but God offers you another road that leads to everlasting life.
What do you look for in a Sunday service? Are you looking to be spiritually fed, or are you looking to be successful? Do you want God to make Himself present in your life, or are you looking for a quick fix? If you’re looking to fix a broken life with something more than yourself, then today Pastor Bill encourages you to keep Jesus and His Word at the center of your life. When you let Jesus into your heart, He will do great things through you but you have to let Him in and live by His Word daily.
As believers, it can be hard to know what to do and when to do it. In today’s message, Pastor Bill says that you must live within the law of the Lord. When you do that you’ll be living within the will of the Lord, when you live within God’s will, you’ll find that you’ll have joy that’s unexplainable. A joy that’s only found in Him. To understand the will of God you must read the Bible. Living within God’s will isn’t something that’s confining but something that’s meant to give freedom through His love. Choose God’s will today!
