Have you ever met an individual who feels the need to criticize the tiniest things? Now, surely this isn’t what you’d be thinking but imagine a beautiful and perfectly performed choir concert. Everything about it went right… but the glow of the exit signs kind of ruined the mood of the event. In today’s message, Pastor Bill teaches that strife and pettiness can be a toxin. Stemming from hatred, they can hurt others and ruin relationships. Instead, focus on demonstrating the love of God to those around you.
Many pastors on TV preach health and wealth. They say that if you believe in Jesus, you’ll be healed of all sickness, you’ll never go sore a day in your life, and there will be a Lamborghini waiting in the driveway. Well… that would be nice if it were true. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Today, Pastor Bill teaches that suffering is inevitable, but not unbearable. If you have Jesus, you can walk through that cancer diagnosis, car wreck, or tough financial spot with joy, knowing that He will provide for you.
When God created humans, He didn’t make them like robots. He gave them the gift of free will. Humans could freely choose to love and obey God. Or they could choose to disobey Him. Today, Pastor Bill teaches that you are responsible for your choices. God has given you the information about how to gain salvation and live an abundant life in Jesus. But He won’t force you to accept it. What will you choose? What will be the consequences of your actions? If you need wisdom, ask God. He’ll give you His wisdom freely.
When we think about sins, we often think about obvious sins like murder, adultery, and stealing. Those are definitely sins. But so are subtle sins like self-righteousness, selfishness, and pride. In today’s message, Pastor Bill teaches that self-righteousness often keeps people from being saved because they don’t realize they need a Savior. That’s why Jesus often rebuked the Pharisees. Don’t let pride get in the way of your salvation. Today, humbly come to Jesus and acknowledge that you need Him.
Religion is all about what man has to do to earn salvation and acceptance by God. The Gospel is all about what God did for you so that you can freely have the gift of salvation that you could never earn and that you don’t deserve. Isn’t that amazing? Today, Pastor Bill emphasizes that only God could create something so profound and excellent as the Gospel. It’s in His wisdom that God sent His only Son to die the death you deserved, and through His wisdom, you can live the excellent life you are meant to live.
Many people have the false belief that God is a strict tyrant who doesn’t want anyone to enjoy life. They think that He sets a bunch of rules to stop people from having fun. But that’s the furthest thing from the truth! God wants what’s best for you, and He wants to prevent you from experiencing the unnecessary pain and hardship in your life that results from sexual sins. In today’s message, Pastor Bill teaches that the way you can know God’s good plan for your life is by knowing His Word. Only He can truly satisfy you!
Sexual sin always starts with words. It might begin as small talk in the school hallways, a conversation at your company’s holiday party, or a text message. These lead to seductive words that promise pleasure without guilt or consequences. Yet sexual sin always leaves scars. To combat these deceptive words, Pastor Bill teaches you today that you must know and meditate on God’s Word. His Word is truth and leads to wisdom and life. Spend time reading the Bible daily to stand firm against sexual temptations.
The world has a lot to say about sex. Sex is openly shown and talked about in movies, TV shows, and songs. But the Bible also has a lot to say about sex. That’s because God created sex, and He has specific guidelines and purposes for sex. Today, Pastor Bill teaches the importance of having the Bible inform your sex life. If you don’t let the Bible inform your sex life, then the world certainly will. The world has distorted and perverted sex. Spend time in God’s Word and let It give you wisdom for your sex life.
What would happen to your body if you never drank water? Your body would deteriorate and you would die from dehydration. Your body has wants, and it has needs such as water. But there are things that your body wants and craves, and sometimes, they could be other people outside of your marriage. So in today’s message, Pastor Bill encourages you to seek Christ and deny yourself. Jesus conquers all, including sexual urges and desires that most people don’t realize as a sin.
When you leave the house for the day, what are the three most important things to take with you? If you’re a guy, you know that your phone, keys, and wallet are the most important things to have on you throughout your day. But how important is it to have the Bible on hand with you? Should have it once a week or with you wherever you go? In today’s message, Pastor Bill wants to emphasize just how important the Word of God is. The Bible is how God primarily speaks to you and me. Without it, the world would be lost.
