In the Book of Genesis, it says that man and woman were created in the image of God. This is true in design, but not quite in nature. It wasn't until Jesus came and brought salvation that we are actually said to become more like Christ. In today’s message, Pastor Bill will be sharing about the journey that we all go on toward becoming more like Christ. This journey looks different for all of us, but God is faithful to finish what he starts in us. What is your next step when it comes to being more like Jesus?

 As Pastor Bill continues his teaching series through the book of 1 John, he’ll be explaining how a child of God has an eternity in heaven guaranteed. Jesus has already paid the entry fee for every person who trusts in His death and resurrection. Children of God live in the hope of seeing Jesus face to face, and so they “purify themselves, just as he is pure”. A child of God is eager to do good works because saving faith is a faith that changes you from the inside out! Jesus said, if you love Me, obey My commands. 

When the Apostle John speaks about a child of God, he is describing the life of someone who has truly received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The life of a child of God will be radically different from the life of an unbeliever. Today, Pastor Bill will be reminding you that a true child of God has a desire to live in a way that pleases the heavenly Father, a life characterized by love. Jesus said, by this, all will know you are My disciples, for the love you have for one another. 

As Pastor Bill continues his teaching series, he’ll be explaining how the spirit of the antichrist is currently at work. The word antichrist means “against Christ.” People who say that Jesus is not from God are controlled by the spirit of the antichrist. Satan opposes Christ, and he desires to deceive people into a false view of who Jesus is. The spirit of the antichrist teaches against Christ. To twist the truth about Jesus Christ is to pervert the gospel. Satan works to spread lies about Christ and keep people in the dark!

The Bible is quite clear that the Holy Spirit is very active in our world. The book of Acts, which sometimes goes by the longer title of “The Acts of the Apostles,” could just as accurately be called “The Acts of the Holy Spirit through the Apostles.” Today, Pastor Bill will be explaining to you how the Holy Spirit desires to work in and through your life just like He worked through the lives of the believers in the New Testament! Purpose not to grieve or quench the work that the Spirit wants to do in you!

You’ve heard of too much of a good thing, right? God has created things that are good, but Satan and the world want to twist those things and make them evil. Don’t let him! In his message today, Pastor Bill will warn you to be on the lookout for the things of this world that can lead you down the wrong path. God wants you to enjoy things like sex, food, and drink as He intended them because He knows what’s good for you. When you follow His guidelines, you can enjoy life and abundance.

What do you need to get by in your everyday life? Do you really need your smartphone, social media, and a fancy car? How about your TV? In today’s message, Pastor Bill will remind you that all you really need is Jesus. He is the Living Water. Come to Him and you don’t need to thirst for the things of this world. Of course, it’s not something that happens overnight. Year after year, as your relationship with Christ develops, you fall in love with Him more, and you realize that Jesus is all you really need.

Do you ever read the Bible and it feels like it’s speaking directly to you? That’s exactly what should happen. We shouldn’t be reading the Bible and just thinking about how other people are falling short. In his message today, Pastor Bill reminds you to apply scripture to your own life. Don’t judge your neighbor when you have the same problem. It’s really amazing how the Bible speaks to you in a timely way. Whether you need encouragement or a kick in the pants. God’s Word gives you what you need.

Do you act like Jesus in your everyday life? Do you act like Jesus in your relationships? That’s a challenging question, isn’t it? In today’s message, Pastor Bill will ask if you are seeking to be like Jesus. Are you loving people the way Jesus would? Are you laying your life down for your friends? It’s an extremely high bar that Jesus set. You’ll fail sometimes, but every day the Holy Spirit is making you more like Jesus. When people watch how you act, they should see the light of Christ shining from you.

What is your relationship with sin like? We all still sin even though we have accepted Christ, but, as Pastor Bill will tell you in His message today, our relationship with sin should change. The power of sin has been defeated in your life. Where you were once imprisoned and powerless against sin, Jesus has freed you from sin’s hold on you. Jesus broke the shackles of sin when He died on the cross. Do you look at sin in your life with the understanding that you can defeat it? Jesus gave you that power.
