In today’s message, Pastor Bill reveals the Lord’s plan to grow you up in your most holy faith; by the Word. It’s the only answer you need for all life’s challenges. Friend, let's remember to always keep first things first; loving god, loving people, and staying in the word.
You’ve grown in the knowledge and stature of the Lord since you got saved, haven’t you? In today’s message Pastor Bill, reminds us to stay in the word to grow up into who we were created to be. Putting aside the passing pleasures of sin for the joy set before us; in the full maturity of grace. Remember to keep yourself in the word to continue your spiritual growth, and ultimately bear the fruit of righteousness in due season. As a child of love, there is no greater calling on your life than to represent your creator with honor.
As Pastor Bill will illustrate in today’s message, when you go skydiving for the first time, you go with an experienced skydiver. You’re strapped to them and you have to trust in and submit to their knowledge and experience. That’s the kind of faith we need to have in Jesus. When we step out into what He’s calling us to, it may be every bit as scary as taking that step out of an airplane. So many things could go wrong - and they really might - but Jesus has a purpose and He’ll bring you in for a safe landing.
The book of Jude contains a clear warning about false prophets influencing the Church. It’s not a coincidence that it comes right before the book of Revelation. Revelation tells us about the end times and warns that false teachers will be numerous. As Pastor Bill will warn in today’s message, these false teachers are in every church. Some are aware of their role while others have convinced themselves that they’re right. The only way to recognize their falsehoods is to know the Truth in an intimate way.
When we stumble in sin we have a tendency to blame God for the circumstances that led to our failure. If God had blessed us with the things we wanted or needed in a better environment, we wouldn’t have fallen into those sins. As Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, living in a perfect environment wasn’t enough to keep Lucifer or the angels who followed him from falling and it wasn’t enough to keep Adam and Eve from sinning. Sin is not God’s fault - He is only good and just.
Who’s your enemy? Is it people in far-flung parts of the world who have a vendetta against America? Or a neighbor who likes to party loud and into late hours? Maybe it’s someone at work who subscribes to a different political party than you? As a follower of Jesus and a child of God, none of those people are really an enemy, as hard as they may try. As Pastor Bill will challenge us in today’s message, we’re wrestling against powerful, spiritual forces who seek to destroy you as well as your human antagonists.
People are trying so hard to figure out who they are. We’ve all known those people, and some of us have been those people, that move from identity to identity, just trying to find fulfillment. We see this happening in many ways today. All of these temporary, surface-level identities will wear out and before long, we find ourselves looking elsewhere. As Pastor Bill will point out in today’s message, real fulfillment, and value can only be found when we take on and accept our identity in Christ.
