When people accomplish something through a different process than what you would do, we tend to become skeptical; we think they probably need our help because obviously, our way is the best way. But Pastor Bill reminds us today that, God’s ways are not our ways. In fact, God works in wild ways to accomplish what only He could. Just because He doesn’t move and work in the ways you would, doesn’t make it less than. In fact, His ways will blow your mind if you simply allow Him to work through you.

We live most of our lives providing for ourselves; when there’s something you want, it’s wise to work and save for it. It’s not very often that things simply fall into your lap, so we follow whatever path we must in order to make it a reality. Today, however, Pastor Bill reminds us that salvation is one thing we can’t work for. There’s nothing you can do in order to be saved, other than having faith in Jesus Christ. God has done everything necessary for your salvation; the only action required by you is to simply accept Him.

It's often an imbalanced concept, the idea of faith and works, and many religions will say that we must work to earn salvation. But Pastor Bill shows us today that works happen BECAUSE faith exists! Biblical law shows us the impossible task to attain righteousness, but it also points us to the ONE who has accomplished it. The one and only work we have to accomplish is having faith! Then, if works happen afterward, it's due to the continued effect of faith in Jesus, as he transforms and makes us like him.

Without realizing it, we put our faith and trust in things every day. Pastor Bill's analogy of trusting the chair is just one of those moments, but when you think about it, our belief, trust, or FAITH in God should be as simple as sitting in that chair. It's one thing to say that you believe in God, but it's another to actually believe to the point that you trust without questioning... like when you plop down in a chair. So, with that analogy in mind, do YOU have Faith in Jesus?

All relationships go through phases and stages of growth. Pastor Bill will share that the relationship we have with God is much like a relationship with a spouse. You think you love them when you say “I Do” but that's only just the beginning. From there, it grows and becomes deeper and stronger, and goes far beyond infatuation. Those initial feelings are great, but it gets sweeter and sweeter as time goes on, and devotion grows. So where are you at in your relationship with Jesus today?

Each of us will come to a place where we will have a choice to receive what Jesus has for us or not, just like Pastor Bill did. It may not be as dramatic a moment as Pastor Bill's near-death experience, but it will have a huge effect on your life. Pastor Bill is planning to live until he is 110. Why? Because he wants to do as many things as he can for the Kingdom of the Lord. You'll be challenged to dream and plan for kingdom work in today's message. It's not enough to retire when you are 60 or 70 and call it good. If you take some time and imagine how you could spread the Good News, you'll want to plan a long life too! It's never too late to start the good work. Teenager or septuagenarian, you can share God's love.

It's faulty logic to defend your need for a Savior by saying you are so much better than the worst human on earth. Today Pastor Bill uses the S-U-N to explain how someone on top of a mountain isn't that much closer to the sun than someone at the bottom of the ocean. If you replace the sun's distance with the Glory of God, you are still millions of miles short even if you are a “good person.” The fact is you are still a sinner; you fall short of the Glory of God and need a Savior.

Pastor Bill might have bad news for you today if you think you are covered with your religion and traditions. Or good news, once you realize you can solve the problem. The problem is that you've got it figured out yourself. You've got a system down that works for you. Attend church 2-3 times a year, give loose change to the homeless, and generally be a good person. Why would you need a Savior? In today's message, you'll learn that the biggest sin is when you think you're okay with God, but you're not.

While having a Bible is essential, ownership doesn't guarantee entrance into Heaven. In today's message, Pastor Bill encourages you to do whatever is necessary to get your hands on a Bible. Hint: most churches will happily give you one. But what you do next with the Bible will lead to your salvation. Reading the Bible will reveal your imperfections. To get into Heaven, you need to be perfect. No one aside from Jesus lived a perfect life. It's through a relationship with Jesus you get into Heaven.
