Anu Verma and Alana Van Der Sluys discuss the link between trauma and eating disorders. Eating disorders and binge eating may be a result of a bad traumatic event which occurred in one's life and could be a way to “escape” the painful memories related to the traumatic event. 

Alana is six years recovered from her own battles with orthorexia, binge eating disorder, and body dysmorphic disorder. She is the creator of Freedom With Food & Fitness and is OBSESSED with helping other women ditch the diet culture, reclaim joy in fitness, embrace their body and create a healthier relationship with food.
