You can create genius around you and you can drive others to have a higher contribution. In every place you ever work, you will find that resources – either people or money, will always be an issue. Even if you work at the top Fortune 500 companies, they are driven to produce a profit and are beholden to shareholders. If you are in the military or the government, there is no new money. Therefore, you will grow as a leader and become a person who is able to produce real, tangible results when you learn to use all the talent and intelligence of your entire team and others around you. On the other hand, you will drive others away and hamper the best ideas from bubbling up if you are a Diminisher. This will impact your results, dampen the business and demotivate all those around you. I know who you want to be. This episode will get you on the right track.

Well – that is what this episode is about: Why Senior Leaders lose self-awareness and how you can avoid falling in this trap. At the end of this episode, we will discuss the steps you can take to achieve greatness by becoming a leader with grace. Many leaders could use improvement in all the areas we will discuss today, including me in some cases, but not all leaders are aware that THEY are part of the "many."

One of my favorite children’s books is a book called, “All the Mamas,” by Carol Gandee Shough. This book tells the story of her mama to her daughter, and then her mama’s mama, and so on. As one high achieving women among so many, I thought Mother’s Day would be an excellent day to take a moment to celebrate all the women who came before us, to honor the lineage of strong, intelligent, persistent women who have cleared the path that allows us to be who we are today.

I have never met an interesting person with an easy life. Think about the most intriguing, the most fascinating people you have ever met. What was it about them that caught your attention? What did they do for fun, what challenges have they overcome? What risks did they take to become who they are today?
