Religious freedom is declared throughout the Lamanite lands.  Many Lamanites are converted, even to the laying down their weapons of war.  They call themselves Anti-Nephi-Lehis to distinguish themselves from the unbelieving Lamanites.  The unbelieving Lamanites seek to destroy them.  The Anit-Nephi-Lehis refuse to fight and many are slain.  Some of the hearts of the Lamanites are softened and more are converted.  But those descendants of Amulon and Amaleki (former Nephites) become angry seek to destroy the people of Nephi. They go to battle against them and have some success and then are driven back.  The Lamanites return to begin slaying the Anti-Nephi-Lehi's again.  Ammon organizes a council to determine what needs to be done and they decide to leave for the land of Zarahemla where they are accepted by the people of Nephi and protected.  All the while Ammon rejoices and boasts of his God while Aaron tries to keep him humble.  

We compare the potential personality traits and characteristics of Ammon and Alma and discuss how The Lord uses all kinds of people to accomplish his work!

The sons of Mosiah and Alma briefly see each other and rejoice that they are still brethren in The Lord.  The sons of Mosiah separate and go into different lands sharing the gospel to the Lamanites.  Ammon volunteers to be a servant of King Lamoni and leads his servants in preserving the king's flocks.  The king is astonished and it opens the door for Ammon to teach him about God.  King Lamoni and many others are converted.  Ammon requests to go to Middoni to free his brethren.  On the way, they see King Lamoni's father who attempts to slay his son.  Ammon protects King Lamoni and then makes some request to his father.  

Aaron and his brethren are released from prison.  They begin teaching King Lamoni's father.  Much success is seen in the land.  The promises that the Lamanites would begin to convert to the gospel is being fulfilled.

Alma and Amulek find themselves surrounded by people of Ammonihah entrenched in teaching doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Alma gives a great sermon on the priesthood.  Afterwards, many people begin to believe, but the majority of the people want them cast into prison.  After the people spit upon them and ridicule them they are taken to chief judge.  The chief judge does the same and smacks them continuously trying to get Alma and Amulek to withdraw the words they have spoken against the people.  The refuse.  The chief judge takes the believers women and children and cast them into a pit of fire.  Amulek desires to use the powers of Heaven to stop the madness but Alma is constrained to let it be.  They are cast into prison and have a few days of persecution and starvation.  Finally, the Lord brings relief and the prison walls are brought down.  All die except for Alma and Amulek.  They come out unscathed.  The people of Ammonihah rush to see what the commotion is and they see Alma and Amulek walking out.  In fear, the run away.  Alma takes Amulek back to Zarahemla into his own house and administer too him.

Alma takes a short break after preaching in Gideon.  He returns to the mission field and has much success in Melek. He then goes to Ammonihah and is rejected and cast out of the city.  An angel visits him and tells him to return to the city.  There, he meets Amulek, who becomes his companion.  After several days of companionship study and some "MTC" training for Amulek, the two go into the city and begin to teach the people.  Lawyers get involved and try to trap them in their words.  The spirit of The Lord is with them and guide them as they teach the people about the atonement, the resurrection of doctrines of the gospel.  Zeezrom offers them money to deny the existence of God, but is caught in his attempt to deceive the people.  He himself begins to believe.  Alma and Amulek make great companions as they compliment each other and boldly testify of Jesus Christ.

Join us as we discuss the transition from Kings to Judges.  King Mosiah prepares to turn the kingdom over to one of his Sons but they all decline.  Mosiah is inspired to institute a government of judges by the voice of the people. Alma the elder and King Mosiah die.  We point out the many correlations and similarities to the U.S. government we see today.  The stability of the reign of judges is put to the test immediately when Nehor slays Gideon.   Alma the younger is placed as the chief judge and high priest of the church and immediately has to defend the church's beliefs and the rights of the people in battle.  Amlici attempts to win over the voice of the people but when rejected, he rebels and stirs the people up unto anger.   Alma the younger is fed up with the continual dissensions of the church and the Lamanite attempts to put his people in bondage.  He battles and pursues any and all enemies.  Dissenters mark themselves to be distinguished among the Lamanites.  Alma sees success and baptizing many converts.

We discuss the gathering of all the people of King Mosiah, King Limhi, and Alma's People.  Alma teaches, King Limhi and his people believe, and they all desire to be baptized.  They set up churches in the land and all teach the same basic principles of the Gospel.  There begins to be issues amongst members of the church that trouble Alma.  He takes it to King Mosiah, but King Mosiah, explains that its a church matter that me must decide on.  Alma is reminded that all can repent and call upon the atonement of Christ.  His son, Alma the younger and the sons of Mosiah have the visitation of the angel and all are transformed spiritually and desire to correct their wrongs and preach the gospel to their people and to the Lamanites.  What can we learn from their example of repentance and sharing gospel.  It's important to remember that our spiritual leaders, our Bishops, want to hear from us, they want to help us.

Join us as we discuss the fall of King Noah, the struggles of King Limhi and his people, and the formation of the church as directed by Alma.  King Noah discovers a following that is taking place and seeks to destroy those people.  The prophecies of Abinadi begin to be fulfilled.  Alma finds much success in teaching the people from the words of Abinadi and begins to baptize in the waters of Mromon.  King Limhi, Ammon, and a council of people figure out a way to escape the bondage of the Lamanties.  Alma and his people that fall under the rule of the Lamanites and Amulon have to find a way out of bondage as well.  And finally, we try to figure out the purpose of mentioning dragons in the Book of Mormon.

Join us as we discuss the reign of King Noah.  What a difference as compared to King Benjamin.  King Noah demonstrates the amount of influence that you can have on people.  King Noah took inherited what was mostly a righteous kingdom and turned it into a wicked kingdom where people openly rebelled against God.  As noted in the scriptures, the people were blinded by Noah's craftiness in speech and example.  As coined in this episode by Andrew, they were "Noah Blind".  

Abinadi, a great man, was sent by God as a prophet to teach and warn the people of King Noah.  King Noah, having been taught by his righteous father, at times wanted to release Abinadi but ultimately did not and sentanced him to death by fire.  Abinadi, goes down as one of the bravest men to stand as a witness of Christ, giving his very life in one of the most horrific ways possible.  He was burned alive.  He truly is an inspiration.
