Join us as we discuss the Book of Mormon flashbacks.  Zeniff and a group of his people set off to find the land of Lehi-Nephi expecting to go to war with the Lamanites only to turn on each other.  Upon returning to Zarahemla after a bloody inner battle, Zeniff puts another group together in hopes of occupying the land of his fathers.  Zeniff reaches an agreement with King Laman of the Lamanites and obtains possession of the land only to become subjects unto the Lamanites and heavily taxed over the years.  From Zeniff, to Noah, to Limhi and 79 years after they originally left, King Mosiah II sends Ammon and a group of people to find Zeniff's people hoping they are still alive.  Ammon finds them and explains to King Limhi who they.  King Limhi is excited and relieved to have been found by his brethren in hopes that they will be freed from the bondage of the Lamanites.  Ammon recounts the history of the last 79 years and teaches the people of king Limhi the words of King Benjamin.  Ammon the explorer takes the opportunity to be a missionary as well.

We discuss the continuation of King Benjamin's address to his people.  King Benjamin teaches his people the doctrines taught to him by his father and what he learned from an angel of The Lord.  He teaches that all are beggars to The Lord and that we should impart of our substance to the poor and those in need.  We discuss that even though we are commanded to give to those in need, sometimes we may not feel inclined to do so.  Is that okay?  Can that be of the spirit?  Let's not not make a habit of not giving and its always better to air on the side of generosity and giving rather than not giving.  Finally, we discuss the atonement and the request of the people to be forgiven of their sins, and King Benjamin's intent that they be called the people of Christ.  We are spiritually begotten of Christ and become his sons and daughters through the atonement as we accept Him.

Join us as we talk about the coronavirus experience with Thomas Simpson.  Thomas decided to announce to the world the day before April Fools, that he had in fact contracted the coronavirus.  By that time, he was well on his way to recovery.  We talk about how he found out, what symptoms he experienced, what it was like being quarantined, what his wife and children thought about it, and much more.  We ask him about his faith and if he experienced any kind of fear or anxiety after knowing he had the virus.  It was a fun interview with Thomas.  As we state in the interview, he is a good friend of ours and happy to know that he was well on his way to recovery.

Join us as we discuss King Benjamin and the beginning of his address to his people.  We discuss the significance of the gathering of the people for a type of "General Conference".  They gather as families and place tents facing toward the temple.  King Benjamin erects a tower so that more people could hear him.  King Benjamin could have been an unrighteous king but taught his people that he chose not to.  He considered himself as them.  He worked among them, lived among them, and mingled with them.  Finally, we discuss Mosiah 3:19 and how we strive to overcome the natural man.

We jumped on Zoom about 2 hours after General Conference ended to discuss some of the highlights.  As always it was uplifting and exciting to listen to the prophet, apostles, and other general authorities.  We discuss the temple announcements, i.e. Tallahassee, FL and Shanghai, People's Republic of China, the new church logo, the Hosanna Shout and much more in this quick episode.  The prophet Joseph Smith, the first vision, and the proclamation on "The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: a Bicentennial Proclamation to the World."  It truly was a great conference.  We hope you enjoy the quick recap.

Join as we discuss Enos and his hunting trip.  Did he take the hunting trip as a way to escape to his "secret place" to pray?  Did he really intend to find food for the family and then get lost in his thoughts and decide to take that time to pray to his Heavenly Father?  Whatever is original intentions were, we know from the scriptures that he felt the spirit of God and decided to take that time and pray.  Not only did he pray, but he poured out his heart to God seeking for a remission of his sins.  He then prayed for his people and his enemies.  Enos is one of those people you think of when discussing the principal of prayer.  The records continue to be passed down generation to generation.  The prophet Mormon, takes the opportunity to insert his comments and the transition from the small plates to the large plates as he abridged all the records of the Nephits that had been passed down over several hundred years.

Nelson has made for everyone to study the First Vision.  He invited us to "Hear Him" in our own personal way.  We share some personal experiences that we have had over the years as we have gained testimonies of The First Vision as well some of our own encounters with evil spirits.  We testify that Joseph Smith did in fact, see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

Nephi passes away and Jacob is commanded to write down the things that are most precious.  We discuss the three major sins that Jacob addresses to his people; love of riches and material possessions, sexual immorality, and pride.  Can you seek after riches and be righteous?  Why were some of the people of Nephi practicing plural marriage?  We also discuss the history of plural marriage being practiced among members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  We discuss current honor code changes at BYU that are made by the leaders of the church and how we adapt to those changes.
