Rob Minchin is addiction's advocate, a cadet in the army and a father.

The use of cocaine and alcohol is so prevalent in today's society and with that use, comes addiction, addiction brings out the worst side in a person and causes so much harm to family and friends along with the individual but why does addiction even start to begin with? There’s always more than meets the eye.

Mr Minchin dives deep into his own experience as he reflects on times of using and abusing to get through day-to-day living and his primary reason for using cocaine, benzodiazepines, weed & alcohol was he always felt less than and was seeking outside validation through "feeling like the man".

A feeling of emptiness loomed over him that killed off any confidence he could have about himself, through the lowest of the lows he found he needed to have compassion for himself which came after many years of addiction.

Expect to learn when young men need a strong male role model, the experiment done on rats to prove that a large part of addiction comes from social isolation, what it is like to go through addiction treatment and to come away a better man for yourself & your family, why every father has to be a capable man, the process of finding love for yourself, why the glamorous drugs might not be so alluring at all , how we are seeking domaine but find it in different forms and why we need to put ourselves through involuntary struggle in healthy forms to become proud of ourselves and when it’s time to go cold turkey on taking drugs & alcohol.
