I stared at the boxes on the form and suddenly didn't know which one to choose: single? married? Why wasn't there one for getting-divorced-but-it's-not-final-yet-and-this-is-awkward-and-I-want-to-cry?? Have you been there, too?
Or maybe you haven't, but you sure have cried yourself to sleep a time or two (or ten) because of how lonely you feel in your marriage or how small you feel when he doesn't see what you do.
As someone who learned the hard way, take it from me: your marital status *does*not*define*you! Can you hear me clapping to those words? Only the One who created you gets to determine your value and worth, acceptance and significance.
Listen in to today's episode to hear more about this *TRUTH*!

Alarm goes off. You drag yourself to the bathroom to brush your teeth as you begin mentally replaying the past week, month...make that months. Nothing ever changes, and you sigh as you get your day started, just waiting for "that argument" to come up again or for the remorse and self-criticism that comes immediately after losing your cool with your kids...again. Your brain feels like it's heavy, and your thoughts feel like they're spiraling.
**Stop**
Linda, stop. Let me put my arm around you and tell you first of all? I get it. Secondly? Listen in for THREE hacks that help me get my mind right and refocused on what really matters so I can extend grace, forgive easily, respond instead of react, and ultimately be more Christlike...and you can, too!

No Christian wife wants to admit that she nags and she DEFINITELY doesn't want to hear her husband say she is. But are you? Our words are so powerful, and the Bible talks so much about the power of the tongue, the damage your words can do, and the value in using wisdom with our words. What if your words were indicators of the state of your heart? What if what you say was a symptom of sin you may be harboring inside? Tune in to hear some hard truth but also the HOPE we have in the fact that we are able to change!

Curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor. Sitting in the back row at church and leaving the second service is over. Declining an invitation to lunch with a friend. Not answering calls. Self-sabotaging with food. Shame can show in many different forms, some more obvious than others. When we feel shame, we are essentially wearing our circumstance or sin as our identity, and it's time to SHAKE. IT. OFF. Sister!
Tune in for two tips that helped me recover from shame and keep it at bay!

What do you do while you're sitting in a waiting room, waiting for a diagnosis? How do you walk through a separation in your marriage, unsure of the final outcome? What about job insecurity, singleness, or infertility? I don't have answers to your questions, but I can tell you that there is a way to wait "well," and by that I don't mean perfectly. Tune in to today's episode to hear some biblical examples of both those who waited on the Lord WELL and those who did not.
