Have you ever looked at your husband (or he at you) and thought you could NOT be any more different than each other?
Have your differences collided into conflict, and increasingly so, to where you feel like all you do is misunderstand each other or are fighting constantly?
What are you supposed to do when you’re just so opposite of each other in your thinking, communication styles, and more?
In this episode, I'm giving you 3 things to remember when your differences are causing division and what you can begin to do differently to bring more peace and unity in your marriage.

Has your husband done something to hurt you: been unfaithful, struggled with pornography, been unkind, neglectful, or absent?
Are you filled with anger every time he reaches for that game remote again instead of having a conversation with you?
Do you feel angry enough to want revenge when you discover yet another time he’s done something hurtful toward you?
I know what it’s like to struggle with wanting to fight for my marriage yet feel so angry that I’d end up fighting WITH him instead of for him.
How do we surrender that anger and control to God and let HIM fight for us?
In this episode we’re gonna talk some strategy… a biblically-based battle plan when the going gets tough and what God’s way of going to battle looks like…and how it can help you find victory in your marriage.

“And I thought we finally were free…It seemed a just and simple equation. Thousands of miles of ocean separated us from barbed wire, police searches, camps for the condemned, camps for the displaced. I did not yet know that nightmares know no geography, that guilt and anxiety wander borderless…I believe the past couldn’t touch me here….” (The Choice by Dr. Edith Eger)
Do you think you’re free from guilt and shame or grief in your past? Are you truly walking IN freedom or are you just free FROM that fear? Or have you been stuck in the lie that “time heals all wounds,” and you’ve hidden it down deep where no one will see it– thinking it’s tucked away… and you long to heal once and for all?
Let’s talk this morning, friend, about 3 ways we can heal and find TRUE freedom in Christ.

Are you really rooted in God’s Word as a Christian Wife? Do you spend time in God’s Word often yet haven’t actually allowed it to sink in and transform you? And this is obvious when you snap at your husband when he makes a comment you don’t like or mumble under your breath with a bad attitude. What is preventing you from applying what you read in the Bible? What’s stopping you from using these biblical tools in your marriage and communication with your husband?
I was gonna post this Part 2 of my conversation with my guest Erika Diaz Castro in two weeks, but I couldn’t wait! So here you go. Go grab your coffee and get your big girl pants on cuz ya need to be prepared to hear some hard truth and realness up in here. Here we go.

I bet you don’t go into a conversation with your husband, typically, looking for a fight. I bet you start to have a conversation with him with good intentions, hoping for something to get resolved or to be heard, but then something derails, emotions get bigger, careless words are thrown, and you leave the room sort of stunned of like “what just happened?”
Today I’m talking with my girl Erika Diaz-Castro, a Christ-follower, wife, mama & life coach for Christian women who struggle with anxiety, burnout or overwhelm. Our conversation is all about how we wives tend to give in to our anxious thoughts and tend to try to control our husbands, and she has some tips on how to be aware of our tendencies and how to reorient our thoughts so that we don't let our anxiety get the best of us and cause further damage to our marriage.

Have you ever been trying to communicate with your husband and… as his eyes glaze over, you realize you’ve been talking for a while, but what you’re talking about now is not even close to what you originally started talking about?
Come on, Linda, yes, yes you have.
Then your husband pipes in, making a comment that he deems “helpful,” but it only makes you feel unheard and invalidated. He sees a problem and wants to fix it, while you just want him to listen.
If you’re sitting there right now at a point where you’re wondering if the two of you speak the same language or how on earth you’re meant to feel loved when he just seems to always cut you off mid-conversation and give you advice… girl. Come on, let’s talk.
Today I’ve got 5 steps to improve conversations and better the communication between you two– even if HE doesn’t do anything differently!

Are you at the point of complete and utter brokenness? Do you feel like your marriage is on its last leg or even worse…dying? Or maybe you’re dealing with consequences of your own sin and feeling like an unworthy failure… And perhaps you’re just sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired of it all.
Hey. I’ve been there.
Today we’re going to walk through 3 biblical truths that you can count on in the middle of brokenness in your marriage or that even apply to your own personal walk with the Lord after you’ve walked away from Him. I’m actually going to get super vulnerable and share some of my journal entries from a very difficult time in my life. It’s 'bout to get real up in here…

The kids are finally in bed; the husband is on his phone, and your favorite show is about to come on. You grab a wine glass, fill it up, and settle into the other couch. No harm, right?
It's been a long day. Your kids are arguing, and your husband is in a bad mood. You sigh, head to the cabinet to get that trusty glass and pour a glass because you just need something to calm your nerves.
You walk downstairs after yet another stupid fight with your husband that has your nerves on edge and your heart filled with anger. You're so sick of it and just need a drink.
But instead of feeling better... you feel worse. Physically and, spiritually. You used to be closer to God, but recently you just haven't been able to get in your Bible reading as much as you've found the time to pop open a bottle. The thought crosses your mind... "maybe I drink too much," but the thought passes without action because, well, you don't think it's really a problem.
Or is it?
Tune into this guest episode with Michelle Porterfield of the Set Free Sisterhood podcast to hear about the lies that we wives tend to believe about drinking, how to know when it's a problem, and 3 steps you can begin to take toward sobriety so that you can actually begin to connect again with your husband.
