A Republican businessman has won the Republican nomination for the District 3 seat in the Maryland Senate.

Craig Giangrande, who owns several local Burger King franchises, made his announcement Wednesday morning outside Winchester Hall. His family was set to host a private fundraiser with former Republican Gov. Bob Ehrlich on Wednesday evening at their home.

Giangrande, 52, is a first-time candidate in a race that’s been targeted for victory by the state Republican Party.

While he’s followed local politics closely for years, Giangrande said he hopes to bring an outsider, business approach to legislating, with goals to make the state more business friendly and make government more accountable to constituents.

Joe Parsley's Shell Gas Station located on the 1200 block of West Patrick Street held their 15th annual fundraiser for the Frederick County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association on Friday. They say all the proceeds will go to the association to help with many things like training for foster, and adoptive parents.

Paul Ellington, a seasoned Maryland Republican political operative has over 32 years of campaign and government experience, and is currently running the campaign of Amie Hoeber 6th Cogressional District candidate. to run her congressional campaign.

Ellington’s political experience is far-reaching. Ellington was hired by Secretary David Craig (Maryland Department of Planning) to manage his 2014 Republican gubernatorial campaign.

Dr. Krepps was born and raised in Frederick County.  He graduated from Middletown High School and attended Frederick Community College, before graduating from Hood College in 1996.  Afterward, he worked as a laboratory technician for the National Cancer Institute at Fort Detrick.
