Bad Jerry Springer Dad Jokes Are Back In Full Form!

Jerry shows up to a party too early, and tries to get soon to be expected parents to name their children Jerry Springer. Bad dad jokes are back in full form!

Jerry's commentary: This is 2022. Have we learned nothing? Are we to leave our children and grandchildren a legacy of, “What were we thinking?” “How backwards were we?” ‘How could we tolerate such ignorance and bigotry? So as to defile, America at its best is supposed to stand for?”  “Come on, Christian nationalism?” It is an insult to Christianity. It’s a defamation to America.

  • Character Matters! EP - 383

On this week's show Jerry can't figure out how to turn the sound off on his Iphone.

Jerry's commentary: Our institutions, indeed brilliant as they are drawn up, are no stronger than the character of the people who inhabit them. That’s why character matters. That’s why our democracy is in peril. That’s why the only remedy is we the people, we the voters; Voting as if democracy this November is on the ballot. It is!

Jerry picks up tabs of two tables while we were out to dinner. He's not making it a habit if you see him at a restaurant.

Jerry, what are you seeking atonement for during this year‘s Jewish holiday? His Rabbi makes him stay later for his extra misdeeds.

  • What Would Jerry Do? EP - 382

    What Would Jerry Do?

A Faustian bargain never ends well. Selling one’s soul for an earthly prize. So it won’t end well for Republicans who have sold their soul. That is any sense of honesty, morality, the Big Lie, to the extreme right wing empowered by Trump for a momentary victory in the primaries. A younger generation, indeed a multicultural one at that, is not likely to sign on what used to be a respected political party and is now a personality worshipping loyalty demanding cult. The G.O.P. 1854-2022 Rest In Peace.

The gang plays a game called what would Jerry do? Four hypothetical scenarios that may or may not have happened to Jerry in the past. We all answer and then at the end, find out What Would Jerry Do?

  • He's Baaaaack! EP -381

    Jerry's Baaaaack!

Jerry talks about the passing of the queen and gets emotional talking about his extended family being exterminated by Nazis and his parents getting visas at the last second to escape into England. Which is where Jerry was born in a subway (or tube) that was being used as a bomb shelter.

The duality of the Monarchy as a symbol of racism and how it also during WWII brought England together when there was no hope for the country.

How are Kim Kardashian and the queen similar? Royalty are a bunch of rich snobs, but they do have good causes. Some royals see it as a prison. Let's discuss...

Casey Campbell stars in a new music video with country superstar Tyler Childers.

We get to hear some new music from him and Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle.

Casey plays a slack jawed drunkard in the video. It's very cool.

  • Jerry Springer Meets Bob Dylan: EP - 380

We’re getting complaints from corporate, about Jerry’s telling of the same joke again and again and again. He must stop, now under direction from corporate. (Then Jene asks Jerry who that older guy he was talking to out front.)

Jene tells shockingly how his uncle Antonio just died and how on his deathbed last week he announced he was changing his lifelong Democratic affiliation to Republican. He told Jene why.

The group discusses getting Tales, Tunes, and Tomfoolery tattoos. How some of the worst tattoos are of Jerry on peoples’ bodies. Jene talks about a guitar he gave Jerry for his birthday. Bob Dylan just got the Nobel Prize, and when Jerry was mayor of Cincinnati, Dylan received the key to the city from Jerry. Jerry explains how he got the Eagles, Kenny Rogers, Dylan, Linda Rondstadt, and others to perform in Cincinnati.

Then Jerry discusses the civil war within the Republican party. How Trump has damaged it for the next decade. Trump puts himself first before his country and everyone else. Where are the leaders of the Republican party?

  • Will the Trump Era Have a Lasting Effect? EP - 377

Jerry tells the story about when he was mayor and started running a marathon in his business suit.

Perhaps coincidentally, Jerry and Jene are going into prison next week. (Not like that, to visit!)

Megan and Jene explain to Jerry how they’re making his prized Sarasota home into an AirB&B.

Jerry’s rant: Will the Trump era have a lasting effect on American culture? How much of this madness can we “undo?”

  • At the Gates of the Artic: EP -376
We revisit the harrowing account of Jo Ann Staples, who survived a tragic bear accident in late August of 2008 in Gates of the Arctic National Park in remote northern Alaska. The story has four elements: the backpack trip and the grizzly bear attack, the dramatic rescue that eventually got her to the hospital in Fairbanks about 250 miles away, the ongoing treatments she’s still undergoing, and the lessons she’s learned.

  • Hard Time | The Conclusion of Jene's Inmate Interviews: EP - 375

The conclusion of a three part special edition of the Jerry Springer Podcast.

Jene interviews two former Kentucky inmates he met while volunteer teaching at a Kentucky correctional facility.  Tom Payne is a 7"2 former NBA basketball player with the Atlanta Hawks. He was the first African-American recruited by the University of Kentucky and hall of fame coach Adolph Rupp. Incarcerated for 33 years he talks about trying to help others avoid the pitfalls and violence he committed against others. Darryll Davis is a former drug dealer who committed murder after a drug deal gone wrong. He spent 22 years in prison and has a similar mission of preventing at-risk youth becoming violent offenders and helping inmates better themselves, feeling redemption, and coming to terms with the effects of their actions. The two talk about their time in prison, their backstories and the work they are doing now.
