On the first segment, Rochelle Zucker  features selections from recordings on the Borscht Beat label.  Founded in 2022 by a young New Yorker, Aaron Bendich, Borscht Beat specializes in various genres of Jewish music. Many of the performers on the  label are the new generation of Klezmer and Yiddish artists.  But others have  been on the scene for many years and are well known and well loved.

On the Yiddish segment, Rochelle features a newly released recording from Sweden.  Called Tshiribim, it is performed by Anne Kalmering & Stahlhammer Klezmer Classic.  In Sweden, Yiddish has the status of an Official Minority Language so there are opportunities for government funding for Yiddish projects and courses.

On previous programs  Rochelle Zucker has featured various Klezmer groups founded in the 20th century and is still very active today.  This week, the spotlight falls on The Isle Of Klezbos.  This New York based  all women's sextet was founded in 1998.  They perform classic klezmer, original compositions and arrangements and a good dose of Yiddish.  The group   approaches Yiddish musical traditions with loving irreverence and profound respect.
